Major League Baseball on Xbox One

BTW Darkplayer, only 6 games in history have made over a billion dollars, so your statement of publishers being out to make "billions" isn't exactly accurate. I'm sure they would all love to, but practically none expect to make even 1 billion.

 

That article confirms that the younger demo is not watching as much baseball as it used to (i.e. younger audience is in decline). Also, I mentioned NBA/NFL (combined audience, as baseball season overlaps both sports). It is a known fact that the young demographic
has been in decline for baseball for decades (except in S. America/Carribean countries). That doesn't mean they shouldn't make an MLB game, but it helps in understanding. Again, why does Microsoft take the blame? If such a game would be so profitable, then
why isn't some third party dev (or MLB itself) making a licensed game? Maybe the bean counters know better?

 

Now the question is. Dose XBOX sale in S. America and Caribbean nations. Because if that does sale well. Then MS has place other then UNITED STATES to sale this game. Because if games do not sale millions of copy's. Developers will drop it like a plagued.
Game developers what lot's of money. And why I say billions. Because I including the cost to licensed the MLB and the union that protects the look of the player. To make a MLB game you need 2 licensed to make it. One for the players. And one the MLB name.
It will cost more then HALO 5. If you make it a triple A looking game. Because you have paid every player in the game. And have to paid the MLB for the name. And after that there only little for yourself as a developer.

 

Now I read the article. Now the question how many those are gamers. Not all them are if I can ask for myself. But that another math topic to talk about another day.

I don't think you understand,Baseball is only popular in the U.S. & Japan & we all know how well the Xbox sells in Japan so that leaves just one country.

Why would anyone make & release a game that will only sell a few thousand copies in one country?

They would lose money hand over fist.

I have to ask again...why does it have to be MS to make a MLB game? Why come on their forums and complain to them? Has MS ever self published a MLB game in the past? If it is SO obvious that a MLB game will make any profits (after paying a hefty license
fee, no doubt); then any number of game publishers would be bending over backwards to do it. The lack of any publishers doing so, speaks volumes.

 

I can't understand why all of the TENNIS fanatics don't make entertaining threads like this.
