My monitor recommends my displace scale to be set to 100%, but that's too far zoomed out compared to the 125% I use. I know it's zoomed out because everything is blurry and comparing it to my laptop screen, the monitor is very zoomed out.

125% is the correct scale compared to 100%. 100% is blurry on my current monitor and is very zoomed out, more than it should be. i've tested this with my fathers computer and his 100% scale looks exactly like my 125% scale in my monitor, but 125% is not reccomended for my monitor.

Main external monitor recommends display scale to 100% but it's too far zoomed out compared to 125%.

    Hello Alexepa,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

We understand you are having issues with your monitor display scale settings. No worries, I will do my best to help you sort this out. There are a few possible reasons why your monitor might recommend a different display scale than what you prefer.
One is that your monitor has a different native resolution than your laptop screen, which means that the same scale might look different on each device.

Another is that your monitor might have a different aspect ratio than your laptop screen, which means that the same scale might not fit the entire screen area.

A third reason is that your monitor might have a different pixel density than your laptop screen, which means that the same scale might affect the sharpness and clarity of the images.

However, before jumping to conclusions, I would like to ask you a few questions to better understand your concern:
    1. Do you have your monitor connected to an Xbox or PC?

    2. Are you using the HDMI cable that came with the Xbox Console?

    3. What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

In the meantime, I recommend you try the following steps:

    - Check the native resolution of your monitor and make sure it matches the resolution setting in Windows 10/11. You can find the native resolution in the monitor's manual or on the manufacturer's website. To change the resolution setting in Windows 10, go to Settings > System > Display and select the monitor you want to adjust. Then, under Scale and layout, click on Display resolution and choose the option that matches your monitor's native resolution.

    - Check the aspect ratio of your monitor and make sure it matches the aspect ratio setting in Windows 10. You can find the aspect ratio in the monitor's manual or on the manufacturer's website.

To change the aspect ratio setting in Windows 10, go to Settings > System > Display and select the monitor you want to adjust. Then, under Scale and layout, click on Advanced scaling settings and turn on Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry. This will automatically adjust the aspect ratio to fit your monitor.

    - Check the pixel density of your monitor and make sure it is compatible with your laptop screen. You can find the pixel density in the monitor's manual or on the manufacturer's website. To check the pixel density of your laptop screen, go to Settings > System > Display and select the laptop screen. Then, under Scale and layout, click on Advanced scaling settings and look at the Custom scaling section. The number there indicates how many pixels per inch (PPI) your laptop screen has. If your monitor has a much higher or lower PPI than your laptop screen, you might need to adjust the custom scaling to make them look similar.

I hope this helps you resolve your issue. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us again. Have a great day!

    Sincerely,

I found a solution. The Scaling settings in display settings have to be at 100% at 4K. They cant be at the 125% that windows recommends or it throws everything off.

Says I'm in a Party when I'm not, can't join alternate parties on console

After 10+Hrs... I found the issue!

1.) Right Click on your Desktop

    2.) Display Settings

3.) At 'Change the size of text, apps, and other items:' slider change it to 100%

    i.cubeupload.com/QmNEMs.png

Note: If it's already set to 100% or doesn't work at 100%, try all other options it gives you on the slider.

    Hope this helps!

Why this works: This was a DPI issue. Some applications have issues with the scaling and how it is displaying the content. I guess it didn't like the 125% scale that my monitor was displaying (1440p resolution / AMD R9 290 Graphics Card).
