Mahjong Daily Challenges Problem loading a game

1. What version & build of Windows are you running?
   Win 8 version 6.3 Build 9600
2. What is the make (who made it) & model (if you know it) of the device or devices you are using?
   HP Envy
3. About how long ago did you start having this problem?
   Started yesterday - Feb 3 and again today Feb 4
4. Have you noticed this problem happening on any other games?
   I also play Solitaire and have no issues at all with that.
5. Describe your problem. Please explain what happens from the time you launch the game until the problem happens.
   I have played two games on both days and when I go to do the third game, it cycles like it is loading, but then just ends the application. Yesterday it happened on the Mahjong Easy game and today it was on the Mahjong Medium game.

The Daily Challenges Megathread

Just when you thought it was safe to go into the water and play the Mahjong daily challenges - 5 consecutive days (2/10-2/14) of normalcy; the spinning tiles make a return appearance today (2/15) on 2 of the daily challenges. Whatup!? What makes 2/1,2/2,2/5
& 2/10-2/14 daily challenges so special that you can actually play every challenge without issue. And the tip for manually loading a Mahjong update doesn't work for me - other app updates are listed but Mahjong isn't.

 

Mahjong Daily Challenge

I cannot log in to Mahjong Daily Challenge today. Keep getting the 1170000 error code. Have followed directions, even rebooting computer. Other game daily Challenges work fine. What is wrong with the Mahjong Daily Challenges.

 

Me too! February 3rd the Classic game wouldn't load. February 4th it's the Lightning Tiles. I click on them, the loading screen comes up for a second, then I'm back to the Windows 8.1 start screen. I've tried it numerous times, and restarted my desktop
computer. I also play Solitaire, and haven't had the problem there.

 

I am having the exact same issue. Very similar setup to what the OP has.

 

I tried these two Daily Challenges on my laptop running windows 8. There they run "loading" f-o-r-e-v-e-r but never get loaded. No problems with the other Mahjong Daily Challenges. If this isn't fixed, it may prevent me from getting a gold medal this
month and I would not be happy about that.

 

I have reported this bug. We are investigating what is going on with these specific challenges and hopefully will get it ASAP so you won't have to miss your gold medal. Thanks!

 

Same problem, tested on different hardware with the same result.

b) Custom built desktop (Core i7 860, 8GB Ram, 2*Radeon HD 6950 (CrossFire)) (ASUS GFx and MB)

No!

One game yesterday and one game today was affected. The load screen apperas (circling dots in RT, spinning domino in enterprise) and stays on for a long time before the game crashes, i.e. drops out to the start menu. The game is still in memory so I can
switch back to it using Alt+Tab. This reloads the game. It is always the same game instance that fails and the order in which they are played is not important.

 

Thanks for the additional information! It appears that this bug is across the board for everyone and specific to those two challenges.

 

I'm glad someone is listening. All 3 of today's (2/5) challenges are working okay.

 

I'm always listening. You probably noticed I'm all over these forums pretty much every day.

 

There were some problems with these Challenges some time ago that didn't get any attention for quite some time. One of them went on for over a month. I felt like I was complaining to the universe, or at least a black hole. When they did get it fixed,
I had to go crazy trying to catch up on a month's worth of games. It wasn't fun.

 

February 6th Golden Tiles is doing it.
