Mahjong and Solitaire not working

1. What version & build of Windows are you running? Version 6.3 (Build 9600)
2. What is the make (who made it) & model (if you know it) of the device or devices you are using? Toshiba Satellite C55t-A5222
   
3. About how long ago did you start having this problem? Yesterday
4. Have you noticed this problem happening on any other games? Solitaire
5. Describe your problem. Please explain what happens from the time you launch the game until the problem happens. Game will not load. Returns to start screen after a few seconds. Game screen remains in the background but is stalled.
   
6. Please post any other details or notes about your problem here: Taptiles still works like it always has.

My MS solitaire & MS mahjong are working fine my MS jigsaw will not load

 

Not loading Mahjong

Having the same problem In the last few days with both Mahjong & Solitaire. Solitaire was working & Taptiles wasn't. Now Solitaire won't work, but Taptiles does.

I am sorry to hear that these two games aren't working correctly. Let's first make certain that the most recent update for the game actually made it onto your laptop. You can check for updates from the Store app. Once you're in the Store app, open the
Settings charm, and then tap on "App Updates" and then tap on the "Check for updates" button. We suggest you use a reliable network connection the first time you start any update.

If no new updates are shown, please let me know.

I have since been able to get Solitaire working again after uninstalling and reinstalling. I did as you suggested and checked for updates in the settings and none were available. When I try to reinstall Mahjong I get an error code: 0x80080207

From this morning (18/01/14) these two apps have started behaving like Minesweeper Adventure has been behaving since Windows 8.1 was installed. i.e. they don't start but crash out. The situation can be resolved temporarily by uninstalling and re-installing.
I suspect something has been done to the way they interact with Xbox Live overnight that's brought this behaviour about. Pleas resolve this!

Let's try a refresh of the Windows Store to see if we can get rid of the error and get the game downloaded and installed again. Press the Windows key+R and then type wsreset.exe in the Run dialog box. After wsreset.exe has run, try to reinstall Mahjong.
Let me know if you are able to install the game again or not.

@ChrisKMRT If you're still having this issue, go to Windows Update, select View Details, and install any optional updates that are waiting. There was an optional security update that, when not taken, broke a variety of random apps for some users. Try it
and let us know if you're still having an issue.

 

@MonsieurV3rt This hasn't worked either. I have tried to reset many times and it will not reinstall.

 

It looks like you guys may not have gotten this Windows Update. Download this, install it, and then reboot your computer:

support.microsoft.com/.../2913270

This should fix why you can't reinstall the app. Also make sure you are signed into the Windows Store. Go to Settings, Your Account, and check to make sure you're signed in there after you reboot.

 

@MS Win8 Games It didn't work. Says update is already installed. Still can't install Mahjong.

 

Do you have any optional updates waiting in Windows Update? Be sure and check for updates again. You can see if there's any additional updates by clicking on View Details.
