    Madden 25 - Xbox DLC Problem / Refund


    Admittedly, I'm pretty upset about this issue, but will do my best to lay out the problem logically.

    1) My son plays Madden 25 - specifically, the Ultimate Team portion of the game which allows you to buy card-packs using the Microsoft in-game DLC process that gives you players to improve your team

    2) Those card packs are often limited to a certain number of purchases, or limited time offers. For example, you may only purchase 1 of the Legendary Packs, for example. More on this later.

    3) On Sunday, January 26, 2014, my son purchased a 10 pack of the All-Pro packs for $81.22 (inc. tax). This was limited to One (1) 10-pack purchase only.

    4) The packs did not show up in his Madden account. (For the record, he has purchased about 20 other differing kinds of packs since buying the game 4 months ago. This was the first time there was an issue.)

    5) Within the game, he went to buy the same pack again, and it still said "0 of 1 Purchased"...meaning that the game did not recognize that he'd bought it.

    6) I checked my Paypal account, and sure enough, Microsoft had deducted $81.22 from my account.

    7) Got online with Xbox support, and they had me run through about 4 different tests...clearing the system cache, restarting the system, looking for it in downloads, etc. Nothing worked.

    8) Ultimately, the support guy decided that it was a problem with my profile.

    9) For grins, while on the support chat, I had my son buy a cheap pack in the same game. It was purchased, and showed up with no problems...so I knew that this was NOT a problem with the profile.

    8) After being on chat with support for 1.5 hours!, he opened a service request with the "Advocacy Team" and gave me a SR number. He indicated they would be in contact with me "within 4 days" regarding my refund.

    9) After ending the chat, I re-purchased the item (since it was a limited time offer)..paying ANOTHER $81.22, and the purchase went through fine. All 10 packs were delivered to the account, and my son was able to open and use the cards in-game.

    10) It's now been 9 days...no contact from the Advocacy Team. I recontacted xbox support via chat to check on the refund, and the girl indicated that she would re-contact the Advocacy Team today for status.

    I've opened a billing dispute with Paypal, and they are "waiting on other party" to reply by tomorrow (2/5). I'm sure Paypal will ultimately refund me the money, but it's taking waaaaaayyyy to long to get it done.

    I can understand that Microsoft wants to make sure that I'm not scamming them somehow, but the mere fact that I could re-buy the limited purchase item clearly shows that the first one didn't go through.

    Any advice here?

    Paypal refunded me the money through their dispute resolution process. It's pretty bad when a customer spends 2 hours with YOUR support staff for something, gets nowhere, but ends up being resolved via a few clicks with Paypal.

    (Ironically, Microsoft was given 7 days to respond to the Paypal claim, and didn't even bother doing that.)

    Time for a Playstation 4.

    I had the same problem. I spent 3 hours on the phone with support and nothing worked. I purchased the game on pre order and picked it up day one with the new Xbox one. Just guessing there was a problem with the madden 25 cd I went and exchanged it for another
    madden 25. And it works great. I think it is a problem with the first rollout of the Xbox one madden game. Give this a try because nothing else worked. Make sure you uninstall the original game and re install the new game.

    I'm having the same problem with a code for Madden 25 that was apre-order bonus from gamestop and I entered it on xbox.com and there was nothing that got installed on my Xbox One. I tried to look for it in the store and there's nothing called the "Ultimate
    Pro Pack" in fact madden 25 has no add-ons currently. So what gives, any one else have Madden 25 that pre-ordered and got the bonus pack only to find it's not on their console?

    Madden 25 Freezes

    Madden 25 is stuck at the resuming franchise screen. I had problems loading it also.
