Mad Max Xbox One release day delivery?

I ordered mad max from the Microsoft store on 8/24. How can I tell if I'm getting release day delivery?

Mad Max - My Review

I loved Mad Max. I remember I bought both Mad Max and MGSV when they released the same day, and after trying both I spent more time with Max.

I loved the graphics and I loved upgrading my car into a death machine with all the options. Combat felt great and gritty, it felt so good landing that drop kick on that one annoying shiv wielding guy. I still have not finished it, but I intend on returning.

 

Don't know about the Microsoft store but Amazon has always got my stuff to me day of release, were you not given an estimated deliver date or something?

 

The only dates on the invoice are the date ordered and the release date. There is no mention at all about shipping or delivery dates.

 

Called Microsoft store customer service and the rep told me that they try and ensure release day delivery on all pre-orders regardless of shipping method chosen. I was curious because on the Xbox live rewards page there is an offer for guaranteed release
day delivery for some games but neither the rewards or store site state which games at included.

 

So just now finally got my tracking number from UPS and the estimated delivery date is end of day Thursday (2 days after release). So it is not looking good for the "free guaranteed release day delivery" and apparently the Microsoft rep didn't know what
he was talking about. I guess now I know not to order anymore games I am highly anticipating from the Microsoft store.

 

Ugh that sucks...

Amazon all the way! preordered loads of games from them, always got them day of release

 

I know it's not always possible, but I would recommend staying away from online purchases for games you're highly anticipating due to this very reason. I hope it gets there sooner than expected!

 

Yeah, figured I'd give it a try with the 1600 Xbox points and the "guaranteed" release day delivery offer. But I've learned my lesson and GameStop is going to keep my business.
