Mad Max : Patch Install % above & beyond 100%

A question.

I bought Mad Max a few days ago. I installed it and it requested I do a standard 400MB patch (I kind of figured when it was done, it would say I needed to install other patches since it's been out a while). Now I don't have the greatest internet connection,
so i'll let it patch, pause for a while and then turn it back on. And repeat. Well 400mb isn't that bad so I left it on overnight. When I woke up I found it hadn't hit 100% and stopped. Instead it was OVER 100%. I figured I would let it run and see what happens.
Well as of right now it's 4,602% complete and says "ready to play" which it won't really let me do till it's done.

Is this some sort of glitch?

I tried to contact virtually EVERYONE about the sizes of Mad Max's patch just to get an idea, and no one has an answer. Avalanche said contact WB support, and they didn't bother responding at all.

Playing mad max - kicked to dash to install a patch. Cheers. Thanks for that. I couldn't live one second more without that 500MB update. What a great "feature".

This is a known issue in preview program we just got an update which fixes this other game updates were doing this as well, No date when update will be released to public.

 

Sorry this was only brought up as a known issue so no fix yet.

 

So if I let it go will it eventually reach it's finished state?

It's taking ridiculously long.

 

The only suggestion I have seen was to go offline that is by going into settings/network then choose go offline then try to install the patch, I don't know how or if this would work no harm in trying though.

If you do try it don't forget to go back on line before you play any game or your games data wont be saved to the cloud.

 

Tried that, didn't do anything but put the % back by about 5, then it went back up again.

Guess i'll just let it go and see what happens. Sort of disappointing, but I have a lot of Fallout before I start anything else. Maybe it might get done before I'm finished with that.

 

At least you know it is being worked on good luck.

 

WB support suggested the following.

Do a complete shut down of the system

Unplug the unit and let sit 5-10 mins

Restart and continue download

This didn't work, so the second suggestion was to completely uninstall and try again. This sort of made me nervous seeing as it was downloading for days.

Oddly enough that worked. It downloaded the 400MB, and then it seemed to backtrack and install a SMALL patch. That did it! The mystery here now is what it was doing for DAYS. I had a theory it was just counting up without downloading anything..... but it
was actually hogging the internet connection to do something. We may never know.
