    Mad Catz Pro Wheel Grinding Might Be Forza's Fault?

    During a race the wheel jerks and grinds when close to the centre, at first I though I had a faulty wheel but after some research lots of people have reported this problem.

    The thing is when navigating the menus the wheel is set to return to centre and at this point is very smooth and feels like a proper wheel that always trying to centre itself, but once you start a race it goes back to jerkying and making the grinding noise.

    It might not be the wheel that's at fault and could be forza 5 sending the wrong FFB information to the wheel and making the motors work against each other or something like that.

    :)

  3. Racing Wheels

    With Horizon 2 coming there will certainly be some new people in the market for racing wheels. On the Xbox One, there are currently two options. The Thrustmaster TX and the Mad Catz Pro Racing Force Feedback Wheel. Make sure you do your research before making
    a purchase.

    From the reviews I've seen so far - the Thrustmaster is the far better option. It's also currently the cheaper option ($323 on Amazon, versus $399 for the Mad Catz wheel). The Thrustmaster is belt driven and very smooth. The Mad Catz is gear driven which
    some people have reported as making a loud grinding sound. Another HUGE difference is that the Mad Catz wheel only supports 270 degrees of rotation and 900 degrees of rotation. The Thrustmaster wheel supports any degree of rotation between 180 and 900 by
    using a sliding scale.

    If you haven't raced with a wheel before just know that it makes the game into an entirely different experience. Good luck to those of you in the market for a new wheel!! It's going to be great with Horizon 2!!!

    ...or maybe the MadCatz is junk - just like most of their other products. Reviews I've seen of this wheel so far have not been positive. It looks like the Thrustmaster TX is still the gold standard on the Xbox One.

    ..and right now you can get a Thrustmaster wheel ($323) for less $$$ than the Mad Catz ($399) on Amazon. This should make it a really easy decision for anyone in the market for a wheel right now (especially with Horizon 2 coming out).

    Using the controller with a few changes to the advanced settings is faster than the mad catz, I thought a wheel would add to the game but its not the case, I reckon the xbone controller can beat any wheel because you can move the sticks and triggers much
    quicker that turning wheels and pushing pedals.

  6. It sounds like you were thinking that switching to a wheel would instantly improve your lap times. If that's the case - I'm sorry to tell you how mistaken you are.

    I don't believe that one input method is faster than another. To be fast with either input method just takes practice. If you've been using a controller up until now then you've learned to be fast using the controller. It's going to take some time before
    you're fast with the wheel as well.

    I did a lot of driving with a DFGT and that was faster than a controller but not by much, the mad catz hard brakes dont help because it slows your foot down.
