MacBox doesn't work (latency)

I've created some threads with some questions here and there, but this will pretty much sum it all up.

I have a Xbox One. It connects to internet but the internet won't work (200ms!)



What I've done:

• I have opened all the Xbox/Live ports in my router
• I have opened all the Titanfall ports in the router
• Enabled UPnP
• Checked out DMZ (decided to go for port forwarding)
• I changed to static IP (outside my HDCP-range) to port forward
• Turned of firewall
• Changed 2,4GHz/5GHz wireless broadband
• Tested Twitch app on Xbox, it works fine.

Why won't it work? I have tried to disconnect all devices for my Xbox. But my xbox -
which is made for gaming - isn't (literally) good enough?

The Xbox says everything works perfectly. The internet is good when I "Test network connection". The "Test multiplayer connection" is all good and perfect. NAT type is Open (I changed it from Strict with the router settings) but when I go on the only game I
got (Titanfall) it won't connect to any server at all. Tried for a long time. Xbox, the internet is not perfectly working even tho you say it!

I asked Xbox support on the chat. A very nice girl tho.

"The xbox doesn't have a CPU in the same way as an computer" was the exact answer I got when I asked why the Xbox is worse than my laptop. OK.

Some network statistics on Xbox:

• Download speed: 18Mbps
• Upload speed: 16Mbps
• Download packetloss: 0%
• Upload packetloss: 0%
• Wireless strength: 53%
• Latency: 191 ms
• MTU: 1480

I have tried to find a solution on what to do about the 191 ms. I have changed the location of the Xbox (atleast a little) and I've tried taking my speakers out and moved some stuff. Didn't help. Got 20 less ms.

I have a very long house with lots of rooms. I need a wireless extender between the router and my Xbox. I guess this it what f*cks it all up, but I must have it to get internet. And I keep asking myself:
"If my crappy Macbook can play Titanfall on the same network, why can't a machine made for actual gaming play on the same network?".
Even the Apple TV works.

I don't have money to pay an electrician to create a cable path all the way. It will almost cost as much as the Xbox. I guess going for PS3 is the only option, or that might be the same? Selling then? Didn't even get to play on the console..

I think since last update Jigsaw stopped working. Only empty screen. Where are my progresses and downloaded puzzles gone ? Can I uninstall and reinstall the game without lossing my achievements and all the stuff ?

 

I can play multiple FPS games like Titanfall + Streams on my laptop on the same network at the same time, still Xbox won't play Titanfall stand alone.

Asked Titanfall on Twitter for help, got redirected to support topics and I have done everything they say (ports etc.). Don't know what to do, I talked with Microsoft support.

 

The main issue I see is your latency. 191 or 200ms is high for an internet connection. I would use a wired connection instead of wireless and see if it drops your latency down to at least 100ms. To me your xbox has wireless interference somewhere in the
location it's in.

 

As I tried to write, I don't have the opportunity to wire it. It will cost me half the amount of what the xbox cost itself to get it wired. I can ofc wire it to test it, but at what point? I know the latency will fall down then but I can't have a wire through
my kitchen etc.. I have everything wireless, I need my console to be wireless too. Everything else works wireless in this room, just the xbox that won't work (even tho it's clearly stating the internet is working perfectly. lol).

 

Is the wireless modem or router in your kitchen? If so I would move to somewhere else in your house. Anything that reflects, is made of glass or metal, or is ceramic can cause a lot of interference. Normally you want your wireless strength to be around
90-100% otherwise that alone will cause you to have connection issues. Also do you use any third party gaming headsets?

 

i'm struggling with a high ping, mine is 160ms on a wired connection, everything on my network is at 32ms apart from my one.

i'm in the UK and the general consensus is the network statistics check pings a server in the US hence the high ping. i've been arguing with microsoft support for the last 24 hours but they don't understand ping and the affect distance has on it. mongs

 

RedskullR, no but the TV room is the opposite part of the house than my optic fiber "entrance". Cable is not gonna work for rest of the people I share the house with. I think its the structure of the house and the rooms. It's a bumpy road from the home central
(fiber connection) wirelessly too the TV room. But WHY is everything else but the Xbone working.

Note: I did get to play some games earlier today. Got connected to servers with 50 ping. Had no lag ingame. Could also skype with video and broadcast on Twitch.

Turned off, trying now and it doesn't work again. "Data Center: Searching..." for 15 minutes. This is bshit.

 

UPDATE

The friend I bought Xbox One with (we both purchased 1 each on the same order) and here's how it is:

- My friend cannot play Titanfall. When he launches Titanfall he loose connection to the entire Xbox One. When we are skyping, the skype convo shuts down.

- I still can't get any servers. We live in the opposite side in our country.

I can mildly say that we both are quite disappointed in purchasing Xbox One.

Appreciate if you could post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well (if this is not a single device).

Would you say this is related to this title specific (Titanfall), or your console's connectivity in general?

Do you use a wireless headset with a digital RF transmitter, to transmit radio waves, between the transmitter and your headset?

What country do you live in?

 

Hey Taidara. Im gonna try out network through my power circuit tomorrow. Gonna test two adapters. I live in Norway, Buskerud, Kongsberg.

It's only on Titanfall but again, Titanfall is the only game I got. I have just never experienced this problem with latency before, but (forums.xbox.com/.../1626105.aspx)
I can see that others got the same problem as me for sure. I'm down to maybe 15 hours of struggling with this (6 times with customer support) within a couple of days, but I got a few trick I'm going to try out when I have time.

I only use the xbox one headset that was included.

If anyone knows any online demo games I could try out and test my connection on, it would be highly appreciated.

Keep in mind, when you use powerline adapters, it will degrade the electric currency which is used for sending data encapsulation in frames. Simple, it will degrade the speed between your networking devices.

Appreciate if you could post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well (if this is not a single device).

Is your console speaking/communicating directly with the wireless router, or do you use an AP (Access Point), to extend your wireless network?

• The blue is a home central which I get my 25/25 in (no way of changing it, called ISP).
  
• The red connected to the blue is my router. (jensen airlink 89300).
• The router is connected wirelessly to the 2nd red dot, which is a wireless extender (Netgear WN2500RP)
  
• The 2nd red dot is connected to the xbox one (green dot) wirelessly.

As you can see, I wired the router as far away I could so it could get a clear sight to the extender. Other people in the house won't allow me to use more cable as it looks sloppy.

All distances are approximately 10m each.

I give up now. The xbox just won't work. It refuses. If it won't cooperate with me know, it then just won't. 180ms now. My macbook has 10-15 ms in every games. 1000% more MS on the xbox. It's just so sad. Xbox imported to Norway, will talk to the shop about
refunds.

Router settings I changed:

• Beacon interval from 100ms to 50ms.
• Fragment and RTS treshold down about 30.
• UPnP enabled
• NAT and Fast-NAT enabled
• Firewall off
• Opened all ports (changed to static IP)
• Tried both 2,4GHz and 5GHz (I changed them both into 1 broadband (FastLane-Technology) which was recommended for gaming. I got into 3 games right after I changed that on the wireless extender. ZERO lag and perfect games. Could broadcast to Twitch without
  lag in them games too). Then restarted console and Ive been stuck with 200ms since, just like when I started.
  

Im out of ideas.

 

UPDATE:

Ethernet adapters through power circuit worked. Still 200ms on the Xbox but on Titanfall I got instant connection to server with 50ms.
