    MAC address not registered with OUI database


    I'm trying to register my xbox one with my university's internet network, however they say the MAC address isn't registered with the OUI database. This means I need a new one, how on earth can I get one? Because at the moment I've payed £500 for something
    I can't use!

    Xbox Live and hotel Wi-Fi via Ethernet?

    Usually there is an option for you on the hotel web site to register a Legacy device with your mac address on your console. If you know the mac address on the console you should be able to just register the device on their network

    MAC Address

    In order to connect to my universities internet I am required to enter the mac address for a device to register it. I entered my xbox one's mac address however it came up with an error and I no longer am able to access the mac address on my xbox one. It
    just wants me to chose between wired or wireless connections which do not work because I haven't registered my xbox one.

    I know this question if kind of old and the issue is probably resolved by now, but in case anyone is still searching for the answer to this question I believe I have solved it. I'm not sure what type of software your college is using for registration, but
    the college I work at is using Network Sentry by Bradford Networks. We were having issues registering Xbox One's as well (we were just manually putting the MAC's in and forcing it to work), but I found the Vendor OUI for Xbox One and saw that it was in the
    system just not as a "Gaming Device". So your campus IT should be able to set the vendor OUI of Xbox One to "Gaming Device" and that should solve registration issues.

    Like ChimpZealot said - you need the MAC address of your Xbox360 registered with IT. If they are unwilling to register the extra MAC for you (assuming you've already registered your PC) then simply go into your Xbox360's network settings and set the MAC
    address field to use your PC's MAC address. The only downside to doing this is that you can only use 1 device at a time (xbox or pc) but this was what I did to get on xbox live when I went to college. Good luck!

    p.s. if you dont know how to get your PC's MAC address do the following. Start > run "cmd" by typing cmd into the search box and hit enter > type "ipconfig /all" into the console that pops up

    Your PC's network adapter MAC will be listed along with IP address and other network essential information

    Hi follow the advice on the FAQ I posted, if you change your mac address to your PC's mac address (and keep your PC off for now) if that works it is just down to registering the device on the network
