I joined Xbox in August 2010 with an Xbox 360 slim 250gb console, and that is still going fine today. I think consoles last longer than PCs. Most PC's have a Microsoft operating system aka Windows and have heard lots of is that aging registries can cause
a PC to slow down so much after a year or 2 that users just go out and buy a new PC. Since joining Xbox, I had an HP dv6 15' laptop. Last year, I got a new HP ab 222tx laptop with 6th gen intel core i5 6200U processor 8GB RAM and Windows 10 late last year,
and it can play The Sims 4 on high settings (theres a bit of lag, but its tolerable) and Cities Skylines even on low everything settings, Cities Skylines uses 5-5.8GB RAM according to task manager. And Microsoft DOESNT create registry cleaning software.

Consoles are much cheaper than a high end gaming PC which can cost $2000-$3000 (especially in New Zealand), where as in NZ, when Xbox 1 launched, it was NZ$748 for the Xbox 1 Day 1 console with Kinect. For Xbox 360, I've spent more on games than I have for
the console. With consoles, you have the social side of Xbox Live, Xbox consoles DONT get viruses unlike PC's (or reports of such are negligible), exchange txt and voice messages, party chat, video chat, play with others online, and.... KINECT. If you can
get a NEW PC exactly the same price as a NEW Xbox 1 console, PC's around that range probably wont be able to compete with the Xbox 1's GPU/CPU and the stuff you can do with Kinect (but if you spend more, you'll find one that can compete). My new PC (HP pavilion
222tx) has intel core i5 6000u processor (6th gen, latest gen from Intel) with intel 520 Iris graphics. Does anyone know if this GPU is better or weaker than Xbox 1's GPU. And that PC cost $1300 but the full retail price is $1699. So you see why people go
for consoles. Consoles are cheaper than an adequate PC. No minimum/recommended system requirement stats to worry about for Xbox.

Well I've given many consoles to friends that can't afford to game as much as they want, I've probably given more games away. Living in Australia and gaming is expensive, there's always someone in the old game section of pawn shops. I hate to say it (only
because people complain), but a person without funds would be better buying or stealing playstation this gen, works out of the box, console updates are small.

 

Wow, wish I could go back to whining about Data/uploads. My Xbox one blue ray drive took a dump and about gave me a heart attack.

[Mod Removed] i take back my frustration aimed at microsoft and hope for forgiveness. been using my tablet hotspot and enjoying some games online. this really is a better platform imho than the pony's have. it's american also! still hoping
for over the air dvr function but am pleased with live gold and my vcr xbox. have a great day!

and with the BC games they don't install off the disc, they use the disc to authenticate you own it, the emulated wrapped game is downloaded, so say you install halo reach, it actually downloads the entire game but bloated by several hundred megabytes which
is the emulator setup for each game, as with all technology, the need for data download or connection is more important as we become more connected globally.
