    Loving my new paperweight!

I am super excited to enjoy staring at my new paper weight. I love buying a system that I can't use because I don't have internet. I was under the impression that the requirement of internet was no longer an issue. Thank you for having me waste my money
and making my only options selling it for a reduced rate or keeping it as a paper weight to stare at, it makes me so glad to be a customer of such a fine company. I really appreciate being informed of this in anyway shape of form as I might have reconsidered
my purchase until such time as I had internet or they system would play without it. Thank you for being another corporation that does not care for every customer. I am extremely pleased with being lied to. Again, thank you so much for the expensive paper weight.
This single mother loves staring at the system and games she can not use because your company decided not to disclose the requirement of internet upon start up.

    :)

I know right....why investigate and spend a little time researching before diving in? This one time, I bought a brand new washer and dryer....nobody told me it required this stuff called "electricity" in order for them to clean my clothes...

Internet got knocked out last month for a couple days, from storms in the area, and my X Box One still played games. Girlfriends Internet was out for a day, while they replaced telephone poles in the area, and her X Box One still played games.

It would appear, from your writings, that you just purchased it? I haven't seen a store in the United States that doesn't have at least a 15 day return policy; and from what I read on here, other countries have up to a year(?).

No one lied to you, and this is your first post on the subject. So how can you tell if the corporation doesn't care for the customer? On top of that as others have stated you have the option to return the device for a full refund within usually a 15-30 day
return window. All retailers have a return policy.

Not to mention that the information provided for the Xbox One right here on this website is pretty clearly written and easy to understand. I would recommend reading the following pages:

    http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/getting-started

    Using Xbox One Offline

I would note that it clearly states the following at the top of the Getting Started page:

You'll need these four items to get started with your Xbox One console:

An HDMI-capable TV | A Microsoft account | A broadband Internet connection | An Xbox One console

This is all information provided by Microsoft directly on this site that is available to every person in the world, pre-purchase. It's not hidden behind a paywall or anything that requires an account.

You can find help here, but the accusatory tone and inability to take responsibility for basic research is going to impede that process. I'd recommend just taking a deep breath and asking for help instead of making inflammatory sarcastic posts.

You do understand OP, that IF MS put "Internet required" on the front of the xbox ones retail packaging, that their sales would be at least 1/3 less than it currently is.

Do yourself a favor and either return it or sale it as used. But be mindfull that used. You'll likely not get half of what you paid for it.

  9. I just purchased an Xbox One S console before this last Christmas.

Found on the bottom of the box (I like to keep the boxes, I'm reading directly from it as I type) it came in (edited for the sake of shortening, but it's there and I included the entirety of the "Internet" section... which is definitely on the box itself,
despite being in rather small print.):

IMPORTANT! You must accept Xbox Software License Terms...

TV/Video Out: An HDMI display capable of 720p or greater is required...

Internet: Broadband Internet (recommended 1.5 Mbps down/768 Kbps up), a Microsoft account (under 13 requires parental consent) and an Xbox Live account required for initial online set-up, downloads/mandatory updates (some significant), and
some features (including retention of gameplay settings and information). Streaming 4k Ultra HD content requires a download speed of 18-24Mbps. ISP fees apply. (xbox.com/xboxone/gettingstarted)

    Xbox Live: ...

"I love buying a system that I can't use because I don't have internet." -- I'm sure you'll have a reasonable explanation for why you're able to post on a site that's on the internet, with a complaint derived from lacking internet, but I went there anyway
    because irony.

"I was under the impression that the requirement of internet was no longer an issue." -- Being under the impression of something and knowing it for certain are two entirely different things. Since you've already alluded to the fact that you had heard there
was an issue to begin with, one would think that you'd take steps to verify the truth of the matter before making such a purchase.

"Thank you for having me waste my money and making my only options selling it for a reduced rate or keeping it as a paper weight to stare at, it makes me so glad to be a customer of such a fine company." -- I believe returning it has already been pretty
well covered by others here. If you made your purchase from a place where you can't make a return, then refer to my above response about impressions.

"I really appreciate being informed of this in anyway shape of form as I might have reconsidered my purchase until such time as I had internet or they system would play without it." -- *Looks at box again* I guess you don't consider the fine print on the
box a "way, shape, or form"...?

"Thank you for being another corporation that does not care for every customer. I am extremely pleased with being lied to. Again, thank you so much for the expensive paper weight. This single mother loves staring at the system and games she can not use because
your company decided not to disclose the requirement of internet upon start up." - Thank you for being another uninformed forum complainer. I am extremely pleased to tell you that my sarcasm detector still works beautifully!

I just bought a car, cant believe that I have to put petrol in it to actually move, this is outrageous and I am going to complain!!!!!!

Seriously though, if you don't like it perhaps gaming isn't for you, maybe take up Golf? you definitely don't need the internet for that to work.

What cave do you live in that doesn't have internet?

If cost is an issue, maybe buying a console wasn't a smart decision. Gaming is an expensive pastime. Maybe just stick to Solitaire and other free games.

As soon as you realized that internet was required for set up, as others have mentioned you should have packed it up in the box and brought it back.

Instead you decide to post some garbage in a pathetic attempt at sarcasm.

  12. Lots of people don't have the net, most in my neck of the woods don't because of economic situations. You can't eat the net.

It costs to get the net. Installion fees, $15.00 rental fees per month on a box the net services HAS to have just to provide you with their services.

Now, sometimes the working poor comes into a little money, often around this time of the year. "Tax season" - But unlike MS which pays less than 6% a year in taxes, the working poor pays well over 23.3%, not including the ACA IRS penalities and thus only
gets back some 2 - 500 bucks if they are lucky.

So, some may think to spend 300 bucks on the X1 and play a few games before they are taxed to death yet again next tax seasion. But wait. Nothing on the package said outright. "Broudband net connection required." - Sorry Blue, but I too saved my box and
it too does not say outright. Broudband required, but does - in a long, attorneys wended way, eventually mix enough words to suggest it.

Yet 99.999999% of the worlds population does not speak Microsoft's attorneys gibberish.

So before you people on paTROLL here post as if the OP is retarded, you might want to actually think before you leap.

    Just saying!

I bought mine at WalMart & they always allow you to return things so long as its with in the time period which generally is 30 days for most electronics. I am not sure where you heard that you could play offline being that every thing is server side on the
saves & what not. It has its good & bad points like anything else. I like it for the simple fact I can play a game with little worry of something cheating unless its a 360 game compatible with One where as there are so many ways people can cheat on 360 its
not even funny. The download is like you say you can not play offline, and sadly for me one of my game saves corrupted so I lost 2 weeks of game play & leveling which really ....ed me off.

If you can, take it back.

  14. Wow... so many hilarious things to reply to in this!

You said "most in my neck of the woods don't because of economic situations. You can't eat the net." Last time I checked, you can't eat an Xbox either. Basically, if you can't afford a toy, you can live without it.

I'll ignore most of the tax stuff because it's just stupid, but you said "2-500 bucks if they are lucky". If that's all someone gets back on a tax return, once again, they need to spend their money on something else besides an Xbox. I feel like I'll
be repeating this 100 times. lol

99.999999% of intelligent consumers investigate what they are going to purchase. Enough information can be found on the internet. Oh wait, that's right... the OP has none, yet they were able to post this thread. Simply put, they could also investigate
and get all the info they need to determine if it's right for them. If they're poor, it's not the right thing for them. I've already said that.

If you think anyone is paTROLLing this thread, feel free to use that horrible "report" button and let the evil people behind the scenes decide if you're right. Loving my new paperweight! :p

If you're not happy with your Microsoft products I suggest you move elsewhere. Unless you just love being miserable. If I didn't like Xbox I'd be hanging out on another consoles thread, but then, I'm smart like that. lol Loving my new paperweight! :p

  15. Wow, what a wall of text.

I'll ignore replying to your LOL-ness, but what I mean by "on paTROLL here" isn't limited to this tread. No, it's in every sarcastic putdown comment you forums regulars make to any newcomer who posts their conserns here.

As for 'reporting.' You know as well as I do that not a single mod would rule against a single one of you.

    Have a nice day!
