True that, and I don't dispute that many players do help out (not just Sunbros). I've invaded people only to have them message me after to ask me to put my sign down, and I always do if I'm in summoning range and can help.

I was just commenting that some players claim they want to help, but really they just want to show off and don't really care about helping the host. There's an art to actually helping the host I guess.

  2. I never said that the purpose of the Darkwraith covenant was griefing. I apologize if I made it sound that way, but as I said above, the purpose is to kill the host and steal their humanity. How you choose to fulfill that purpose is up to you.

Do you consider killing the host to be griefing? If so, then I guess the purpose of the covenant is griefing, and everyone in the Darkwraith covenant is a "sociopath".

  3. ^^ That's exactly what you said. You said, and I quote "Do I enjoy ruining other people's games? Yes. This is the purpose of the Darkwraith covenant. I am here to slaughter you and steal your humanity, and then laugh at you.

I understand invading is part of the game and I think it's brilliant when it's weaved into the storyline (the Darkroot Forest for example), but I agree with REDPOINT. If you invade people's games for the sole purpose of ruining people's fun, then you have
severe mental and self esteem issues. Yes, it's that deep. Think about it. You have 24 hours in a day and you enjoy spending some of those hours being an *** for no reason. Think really hard about that.

I don't particularly mind being invaded (been invaded umpteen times around the bell tower DS2) and defeated 6 invaders and been handed my *** upmteen dozen times. The major issue for me is people coming into my game who've obviously used a save editor.
For example, when i was playing DS1 I was continuously back stabbing people on 3 or 4 occasions, yet I was doing no damage.

Like I've said previously, I'm not good at PvP, so it's not too difficult to defeat me on merit. And i suspect these people know they'll more than likely to be facing noobs. It says more about their skill set that they have to cheat against noobs than it
does about those of us that have little or no skill purely because we're new to the game.

So yeah, if people are gonna invade at least have the decency to meet others on an equal footing health and gear wise. I'm big enough and ugly enough to take it on the chin if it's merited.

Yes. I am here to slaughter you, steal your humanity, and then laugh at you. If you consider that to be griefing, then me and everyone else in the Darkwraiths if a griefer.

An extra thought I wanted to add: If you take someone killing you in a video game personally and feel the need to come to the forums to whine about it, you're the one who needs to get your head checked.

  7. Would you go to the beach and jump in the middle of someones volleyball game and smack the ball away and laugh at em? I'll answer that for you. Of course you wouldn't cause you'd get your teeth smashed down your throat. Why essentially do the same thing
in a video game? I'll also answer that for you. Cause you're a coward and apparently angry about something. I'll let you sort that out on your own.

If you don't like something that's in the game, don't play the game.

  9. Save editors aren't in the game, so unless your comment was aimed at someone else, then I really don't see where you're going with that.

Almost every person who uses an editor hides behind some lame *** excuse which usually goes something like this "I've been playing for so long, why should i have to grind?" or "I only use it for single player, so what has it got to do with others?". No,
those people use editors for pvp because in their head they think they're some sort of DS badass, but in reality they're complete garbage at the game when it comes to PvP. The same holds true for every other game people use 3rd party game editors on consoles.

  10. "Would you go to the beach and jump in the middle of someones volleyball game and smack the ball away and laugh at em?"

That is in no way related to this. As I said before, being invaded is part of the game. If you don't like it, play offline and don't shove your *** down other people's throats.

"Cause you're a coward and apparently angry about something."

I'm not mad at all, actually. How does invading people make me a coward?

    -

When it comes to editors, I don't think there's anything wrong with them as long as the characters being edited are not edited beyond what is fair and balanced. As long as you aren't blatantly cheating, I don't really care.

  11. Editors are in no way a good thing when it comes to PvP. Who decides what's fair and what isn't? In reality, most people abuse them and usually gain an advantage. Why should someone be able to give themselves items that people like myself haven't had
the chance to find i.e. NG+ items when we're still on our 1st play through? That's cheating. I couldn't give a flying *** whether people are bored of grinding those items. If they're bored, then they should maybe find another game to play and let the people
who want to play the game, play the game in the spirit it was intended to be played.

  12. If you're talking about DkS 1, There are no items in NG+ that can't be found in NG.

Would it be equally unfair if someone beat NG and made the same pvp character at a low level (which is entirely possible.)?

I consider an "unfair" editor character to be a character edited beyond what their stats reflect. Having more hp than what they should have at their vitality level, more equip load than their endurance level, etc. If someone's just using it to avoid a grind
and make a fair and balanced character, I don't think there is a problem with it. You wouldn't have a problem with it either unless the person you were fighting told you he used an editor to make his character.

I don't think it's a matter of whether someone's "bored" of grinding items, they just don't want to put days of effort into a pvp character that's going to get stale a week or two later.

Either way, it's still a lazy thing to do.

    @ENJB,

If someone uses a save editor to make a character that is fair, then I'm not too worried about it either. If someone beats NG+ and then lowers their level so that they can invade lower levels, then that's a big problem.

Lastly, I've said many times that there's nothing inately wrong with invading. There's also no specific purpose to any of the covenants, so basing your actions on the "purpose of the covenant" is wrong-headed. Also, you can cut out the bravado. No one
    is impressed.

Yeah, cheaters exist everywhere. Dark Souls is no exception. Here's what I find funny. There's a dedicated arena for PVP where like minded people can enjoy PVP. Everyone is on board for the same experience. No surprises. Why then, do people still invade
other people's games under the guise of "I just wanna play some PVP" or "It's part of the game." What's part of the game? You being a *** for the sake of being a ***. I firmly believe people who invade other people's games outside of the covenant areas are
just people who get spit on IRL. This is their change to extract some kind of pathetic revenge. Kinda sad really.
