LOUD squelching sound when Xbox 1 turns on

8/06/2016-I originally blamed esotu, for this issue. After spending time trouble shooting I ended up replacing the cords to my controllers with new cords and sound was 95% better. Still have long loads and sound is silenced where the loud sound used to occur
with occasional squelch noise. My theory is its a defect in the controller and/or a software update for the controllers chip set maybe needed.

It sounds like I have the same type of setup as you. I have a Dolby Digital and DTS supported receiver, I have my Xbox One connected to my receiver with an optical digital cable and I have the Xbox One settings to output DTS over the optical cable. The
receiver recognizes the DTS signal and it plays in 5.1 DTS.

I have tried to play 2 DVDs and 1 Blu-Ray on my Xbox One. The Blu-Ray seemed fine. 1 of the DVDs had the delay you described right away and I stopped watching. The second DVD I tried seemed fine at first, but seemed to gradually slip into a delay as the
movie went on. I was also wondering if the delay had been an issue for others.

I have another strange sound issue with my setup this way. I have been playing Dead Rising 3 since launch and when the game is loading or on the pause menu it does this sporadic loud thumping. It's so deep and loud it sounds like someone pounding on the
side of my house. I honestly thought it was part of the game (since it is a horror related game), but it did strike me as strange since it's so loud.

Anyway...I start playing LEGO Marvel today and I pause the game and get the same thumping. Not as often and not quite as loud as it was during Dead Rising 3, but it is definitely the same. I also noticed on LEGO Marvel that when I pause the game and move
up and down the pause menu options, I sometimes get strange squelching noises. Not that loud, but definitely noticeable.

It's seems strange having this pause menu audio issue when the rest of the sound during the games and in the systems menus seem fine.

I hope things get sorted out with this and am also not happy about the Xbox One still being in the beta phase of development when it is released.

Thank you for your help! I think the Xbox 360 gave completely out. It won't even turn on now. The last time it was on tonight, it made a really loud humming sound like the fan was working really hard in there. Then the green light turned red. Now
when I go to turn it on, it won't turn on at all.

Turned the TV up at least 3/4 of the way. Game sounds and TV programs are REALLY loud.

When it freezes, is there a loud buzzing sound?
