Loud Power Adapter

Have an X-Box 360 with a quiet power adapter. X-Box one however is loud (constant buzz) even when not in use. I have ensured under power settings that the X-Box one turns off after one hour of inactivity. With white light on and X-Box one active you can
clearly hear the buzzing noise. Acceptable when playing I guess. However the X Box is shut down and I can clearly hear the power adapter with its buzzing noise. X-Box one is under warranty until 2017. Power adapter product replacement will be $60. How do
I go about getting a replacement without having to pay $60 especially as I could end up with another noisey adapter? Or is there another option? Would like to ring, using a telephone or mobile phone, and speak to Microsoft agent but there is no phone number
to ring.

Xbox Power Brick

Hello!

I just plugged the Xbox Power brick (Xbxo Elite, Jasper) into the xbox, then the other side of the power brick into an adapter(has US power plug, so gotta use an American to Australian Adapter), then a power strip (Splits the power point). As soon as I did
that, I heard a loud bang and now the power brick smells like burning. the power of the power point is operational, but the brick's LED is off. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Xbox 360 Slim noisy power adapter

I know this is a little late but might help others.

I have also had a noisy power adapter and have had it exchanged. The new adapter is almost silent when you power up the console. If you listen hard you can just hear a faint whisper of air from the fan in the brick.

The old brick blew really hard from the moment I switched it on and the noise level from the brick was considerably louder than the console itself. The power adapter should not be louder than the console as mine was.

Not sure if this is relevant but the noisy power brick I owned was a (rev b) purchased in the UK. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere that this type of brick is noisy so perhaps there is a problem.

Though I doubt you'll get a replacement for free. I've had my power supply start buzzing loudly (or a loud hum from the fan) and what fixed it for me was unplugging it and cleaning the dust out of it if you haven't for a while and if that fails, while it's
switched on and making the noise, give it a solid tap on the top with two fingers (pointer and index fingers for me) and it should stop.

I've done the tap twice now and so far I haven't had it come back again (yet).
