Loud fan when playing certain games on Xbox Series S

some games push the APU more so that generates more heat and therefore the fan spins faster to expel air. the fan spinning faster is normal.

you can also make sure your system is running clean if a fan does run just like any bigger fan it accumulates dust over time. I know I dont have to add this in but maybe pick up a can of air duster for cleaning electronics at a local store. I believe you wont be sorry I gave you this advice. Keeping a system clean and doing upkeep on your device improves its life span. I love playing Xbox and the only reason I believe I still have a system like I do is cause I do Upkeep I find pride in that and I think any system or PC or Xbox Owner Should.

yes, any moving part that moves faster will be louder, as fans are cutting though and moving air the faster they go the louder they get. unless you have really expensive fans designed to be quiet at high rpm, but those are expensive and would never be in a console or the price would go up.

also the warmer the ambient temp in the room is the faster the fan will go as it will have to do more to keep the system cooler.

So, I recently noticed that my Xbox Series X fan runs loud when playing Series X|S / Optimised for Series X|S games specifically.

It’s quite strange as it’s dead quiet every other time, but as soon as I start a Series X|S game, the fan becomes so loud that I need to turn up the tv volume.. it’s quite distracting.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solutions?

FYI - My Series X is a pre-order/launch day model.. and it sits in an open and well ventilated tv/entertainment stand*

In comparison, I owned an Xbox One S for three years and I never heard the fan on that.

I’m having the exact same problem now. The only time my Xbox sounds loud is when running series x enhanced games, it’s completely fine on old gen games. Have you had this issue fixed or is it still a problem now?
