    Loud Buzzing from Xbox 360


    I've had my Xbox 360 for quite a while now and it has always had a bit of a humming noise (I'm assuming it's the fan) but now the noise has gotten louder and is accompanied with an inconsistent clicking noise when it's reading a disk which is extremely annoying.
    And on some occasions the fan has been so loud that I have had to turn it off in fear of it overheating even though I had just turned it on. I'm assuming the clicking is a disc drive problem, has anyone else had the same problems and know how to fix it? Or
    will I need to pay to send it away to get fixed? I'm afraid to use it at the moment as I don't want to completely break it and not be able to use it anymore.

    Xbox making loud buzzing noise

    I hear a loud buzzing noise too, yet it is not coming from the Xbox 360. I thought it was, but it was not. It is coming from the power supply.

    Disc drive makes loud whirring sound, only for Halo 4

    A few weeks ago my friend kicked over my 360 while it was playing my copy of Halo 4, disc 1. A circular scratch was left on the disc, and it no longer worked in the 360, though the 360 still worked perfectly. I bought a new copy of Halo 4 but whenever I
    try to play it the 360 makes a loud buzzing sound. The 360 plays all of my other games without any issues, and without the loud buzzing noise. The buzzing noise only occurs when I try to play Halo 4.

    Any ideas?

    since the noise worries you, I would suggest contact Xbox Support (support.xbox.com/contact-us), to see what they advise, they might be able to hear it via the Phone so they can advise what is
    best.

    Just be aware that setting up a repair request may be cheaper when doing it yourself via
    http://myservice.xbox.com then if Xbox Support will do it.

    Hi, Thanks for the help. I think it's on it's way out so setting up a repair request is probably the best option sadly but I will contact support to see if there's another solution or if they can identify the problem.

    It's either the fan or the HDD. If it's the HDD, get a new one. If it's the fan, then send it in for repair.

    It doesnt sound like one of the fans, it just sounds like a disc being read but it's much noisier than I at least remember, however I haven't played a disc based game on the system in probably over a year so I could be wrong. I'll try another game disc
    and see if it could simply be something that occurs with Red Dead
