Lost the xbox sidebar

I couldnt find any menu option to end the game so I ejected the disc. After putting in the next game (COD) it would get stuck on a blank black screen. Pushing the xbox button would not bring up the side bar to go to settings menu. I had to turn it off and
unplug the power cord too as turning it on and off several time made no difference. Has anyone else had this problem?

No Sidebar, but the sound is there

Hello all,

I hit the xbox button and you hear the sound of it opening, the screen dims but is still visible, but there is no sidebar. I've clicked on my gamertag same thing happens but you never see the sidebar oddest thing. I've reset it several times, only started
happening recently any ideas?

Exactly the same problem here. The sound effect for the sidebar but no sidebar. I tried a two year old work around that involved turning off high contrast in the accessibility tab under settings but it had no effect.

 

Yes! I ran into this last night while playing Batman: Arkham Knight. I was playing the game and hit the XBox button to go back to Home and while the screen went dim, no menu appeared. Hit the XBox button again and the screen brightens back up, just like
it does when you exit the menu. Had to turn the XBox off and then back on in order to do anything. It'd be nice to know what's causing the problem and if Microsoft is doing anything about it.

 

Hi. Im having the same issue. My side menu does not display when im in any app, I have to shut down the console and restart it.
