Lost progress in Resident Evil 8

Unfortunately, it didn't work. But I have good news, I was able to get my progress back by just playing the game. Surprisingly enough, this game was very quick to beat, so I already have everything back. Thanks for replying anyways.

Hi Viskkat, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

Clearing locally saved games will delete locally saved storage which means that if you have been playing the game while offline, that may have deleted your progress for the game. But if you played the game while connected to Xbox Live even before you deleted the locally saved games, it should re-sync.

For cases like this what we initially need to do is to quit the game and perform a power cycle in that way once you launch the game your in-game data will just re-sync.

Kindly quit the game and follow the steps below before you re-launch the game.

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​​

Be cautious if your going to use cloud to transfer. Just tried it out and I lost all my progress in Forza 3 and Resident Evil 5.
