Lost Profiles - Can't Create new ones

Need some help or suggestions - 4gb Xbox 360 E suddenly doesn't display our created profiles. Also won't let you create new profiles. (won't let you get past creating a name) Storage settings show 2.1 GB used but is also showing 0 of 0 in all storage categories.
Any ideas on how to restore our profiles? If not, how to get the system to start over & at least create profiles?

A few questions I can't find answers to

My power flickered when I was playing a game. Now my profiles are gone now and I can't create new ones. My memory unit says my profiles are in the but are corrupted. What do I do?

I have added my other half but that was porting it across from her Offline profile on my Gold Xbox live account

I know what you mean though, when I was trying to add her my username was ghosted and it became a 1 at the end. No idea how you actually add a user and then add the name sorry

 

Actually it's a Xbox 360 S - doubt that distinction matters but wanted to clarify just in case

 

Hi Flared, try clearing the console's cache by going to settings, system, storage, highlight hdd, press y button, select clear cache then restart your console. Hopefully your saves will show up.

 

Thanks but I tried that initially without success -

 

Try turning the console off then turn it back on without the hard drive and the connect the hard drive.

 

Are you using an Xbox hard drive or simply the internal flash memory? If you are using only the memory perhaps it needs to be reformatted.

After reformatting you should be able to redownload your gamertags
