Microsoft found a select number of memberships that were acquired through sources that violate the Microsoft Services Agreement. Subscriptions must be purchased directly from Microsoft's digital store or through verified third-party resellers.

Microsoft is refunding the purchase directly to the payment method used to purchase these subscriptions.

The simple answer is to sign out and resign in. That is typically the issue. Here's a link to cloud data. That said it could very well be a common server issue:

What should also be pointed out, is that Game Pass Ultimate is also giving you a growing library of games for yor PC too. If you did subscribe to GPU then any existing subscriptions would be converted and lost if you cancelled before it ran out.

Your best option, if you don't want the PC games, would be a yearly Gold subscription and a monthly Game Pass subscription.

I am having the exact same issue! Just renewed and upgraded to XBox Game Pass Ultimate, the phone app works fine, hell I can even use Cloud play. But on my PC, the XBox App doe not recognize my Game Pass subscription. I hope we will be reimbursed for the
lost time once the issue is fixed.

I recently started using Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and I'm pretty satisfied. I like that it includes Xbox Live Gold and all the benefits that entails. The selection of games on Xbox is great, and there is some great stuff on the PC side, but some of the
PC ports can be a little buggy - a lot of my friends have had their save data lost in multiple games.
