lost ownership to a game and idk how to get it back

• Which edition of Minecraft did you own?
  
• Did you used to have a game pass subscription on this game or purchase a digital copy of it?
  

Try to check you purchase history: Check your Xbox purchase history | Xbox Support

Confirm if you had purchased a digital copy of the game or not.

Find your game

Games are usually installed automatically on your home console. For auto installs, you must set your power mode to Instant-on and, under Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates & downloads, select Keep my games & apps up to date.

To find your games or add ons:

1. Press the Xbox button  on your controller to open the guide, and then select My games & apps > See all.
   
2. In the games list, make sure the filter is set to All console types. If you don't see your game or add-on, select Manage and see if it appears under Queue or Updates.

I have games on an old account, but I lost the password so I want to move ownership of said games to my main account so I don't lose them if my xbox is destroyed or my storage unit breaks. I looked and I don't think I can change the ownership of games but if anyone could tell me how I could get those games back if I lose them that would be appreciated.

Nothing is transferable between accounts. Youd have to regain access to the account in order to access its purchases.

We got the game from game pass which we both pay for ourselves, so idk if it has anything to do with ownership licenses. This is the first time weve had this issue. We do do game sharing tho so idk if that would cause issues with a game we both have rights
to
