Lost Odyssey digital version for Xbox One Backwards Compatibility

I was initially excited that Lost Odyssey was added to Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility program until I realized that it is not available digitally. What this has done to copies on eBay, Amazon, Gamestop, etc is allowed the sellers to charge ridiculous
prices for this game; often upwards of $50 USD for a copy.

When will it be available to purchase at a reasonable price from the digital marketplace? If you do not have information to this effect, can you at least let us know whether or not Microsoft has actual concrete plans to make this game available digitally
or if they are currently working on making a digital copy available?

i ran into a promotion on your website two days back that offered a free game lost odyssey for xbox1

the promotion stated download the avatar item and get a free copy of lost odyssey for xbox one as a promotion for back wards compatibility. I got the avatar item but no copy of lost odyssey for xbox one.

Backwards compatible?

Only the disc version is backwards compatible. A digital copy won't work.

According to Aaron Greenburg it is only currently planned for physical release. Since the game has multiple discs (5), I strongly doubt there are any plans to make it available digitally on Xbox One

I also tried purchasing a backwards compatible game from the Xbox marketplace (Lost Odyssey) and it won't start either.

It gives me the error 0x80070002.

If a game is not compatible with Xbox One, whether it's a digital or disc version, it cannot be played on the console. However, some Xbox 360 games are backward compatible with Xbox One, and you can check the list of backward compatible games on the Xbox website. If the game you purchased is on the list, you can download and play the digital version on your Xbox One.
