Lost Minecraft Java in migration

I've tried the migration today, but it seems something hasn't gone well.

I don't really know if the process has ended up abnormaly, but the fact is I now have a Microsoft Xbox (I'm on PC no matter what) account that doesn't own the Java Edition.

Though this account is on the same email than my first one.

When I try to log on the Mojang account, I get the following message that is pretty obvious :

"You were logged out because the active Mojang Account needs to migrate to a Microsoft Account to continue playing"

The problem is the migration seems to be done, since going back and clicking on the "Migrate" button for this account lead me to my profile page on minecraft.net, on which it seems I don't own this game edition either.

Do the migration recquire a new purchase of the game ? What kind of thing could have go wrong ?

Obviously, I bought the game (Java Edition) in the first place a couple years ago, and had been playing on it without problems ever since.

You will not need to buy the game again, rest assured. Did you receive the confirmation email about the migration on your Microsoft account?

If you did not receive the confirmation email for the migration, it probably did not complete successfully.

Please try to start the migration process again using a different device or web browser on a Inprivate / Incognito tab and see if it works. The step by step instruction to migrate your account can be seen at:

I've been able to start the migration again from an inprivate tab, and linked it to the same microsoft account.

This time, it seems that everything have worked fine, Minecraft Java is back.

I haven't had any other email than the one with the migration verification code.

I assume it wasn't complete. Is there a way to start the migration over ?
