    so today when I got off my Xbox I removed the hard drive safely and put it on my desk went to sleep and when I woke up it disappeared and I can't re download my main profile because it wasn't a live profile but one of my profiles are.

    Lost Hard Drive

    When I downloaded the new update my profile was lost. Upon further investigation it seems my hard drive tells me it needs to be formatted. The same is said for my cloud saved games. It would appear that all of my saved games and achievements over the
    last five or so years have vanished. Is there any thing I can do to recover them? If so any assistance would be much appreciated, if not...CURSES!!!

    check if the hard drive still worked, you will probably lost all the game you have in there but it worth it, put the hard drive on a pc a format the hard drive, try to sabe something in there and if everything is ok then plug it again on the xbox

    Just redownload your profile and a redownload your games.You may want to do a license transfer as well if others will be using your console.The only bad part of losing your hard drive is you lost all your game saves .But the thief wont be able to steal anything
    like passwords or credit info.
