Lost gamertag/identity

My old PC crashed. I now have a new PC but when I try to play Microsoft Solitaire suite games I am prompted to create a new gamertag although I previously had one.. I would like to continue using the previous tag because accumulated scores and levels achieved
on the previous PC are not being carried forward. How do I get back? Unfortunately I cannot recall the full tag - I only know part of it. I thought logging in with my Microsoft account would solve the problem but all I get is a prompt to create a new gamer
identity!!

Thanks a lot Brad! I believe my best option will be to call support and get help from them ..... obviously I will only be able to do so next week. Once my problem is sorted I'll post a short confirmation here. Have a nice evening (if it is evening wherever

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. We understand trying to recover an older account. You would need to know the email that was associated to the gamer tag you want back. Being you only know part of the gamer tag support wouldn't be able to
assist unless you know a few different emails you have. What we suggest first try logging into Xbox.com with a few emails. You may find the account this way if able to log in with different emails. Other option is to try out the

lost account solution.

Hi Beyers,

For clarity, you will not get the gamer score you had on one account by signing in with another account. Has to be the same account unfortunately. We recommend to request a call from support. They can look up emails you have. If you are able to "Verify"
they can assist you with information on the account.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----select Xbox One
Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
Step 3-----select show contact options

Step 4 ----select request call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Thank you for your response although I must confess that I am not quite sure that I understand you fully. Are you saying that my scores will not be lost if I sign in with a new Gamer tag? I was not connected only for about 10 days.
