lost game tag and games

since doing a factory reset on my xbox one my account is now linked to another gametag and ive lost all my games. How do i recover all of this

You should be able to log into the old account using the same email address and password. If that doesn't work then you should contact
Xbox Support.

Sorry for the issues with your gamer tag and games. Sounds like you signed in with a different email than the one you had on your primary account. We recommend going to the
Account website and try a couple emails you have. If you are still unable to find the account you can request a chat with support give them the gamer tag of the account, if they can
verify, they can provide you the information.

When you go to Contact Us to get it to request a callback follow these
steps:

Step 1 ----select Xbox One
Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
Step 3-----select show contact options

Step 4 ----select chat with Xbox support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

I get the gametag on the top right. My old gametag has been retired by Microsoft. They will not allow me to use it even though they send emails to me related to that tag and they say nobody else can have it.

Hi there,

I want to make sure I'm understanding you.

Your original gamertag (A) is tied to email B. When you log into Xbox.com with the email address B what gamertag does it show in the upper right of the page? Is it the silver tag you posted on the forums with, or does it show another tag?

TY BG. Using the theme tags today I lost connection to 2/7 games so it was pretty good.
