    Lost English subtitles in Netflix App after system update


    I've been watching the new Netflix series, "Narcos" on my Xbox One this week and this morning when I turned on my Xbox I had a 447MB system update waiting for me. I installed it and proceeded to open the Netflix App and continue watching Narcos, except I
    realized I had lost the subtitles. This seemed odd, be cause I had subtitles before the update. I checked my subtitle settings in the Netflix App and French, Spanish, German, and Chinese all work just fine, but the English and 'Off' options do not work. ('Off'
    was showing subtitles for the spanish speaking dialogue) I tried a reboot and that didn't work either. I am in Colorado, USA.

    fix your subtitles.. system and netflix..

    so recently or with updates i have seen subtitles get turned on on allot of systems..

    for general subtitles go to my apps, settings, bottom has a thing with CC in it.. click on that and it allows you to turn off subtitles or close captioning in the system...

    on netflix its a little different..

    you have to be int he app start playing the video/tv show hit the a button and bring up the part that allows you to pause play fastforward... at the very end it looks like a small magazine click on that and it allowsyou to turn off close cationing in the netflix app..

    How do I turn off subtitles so they stay OFF!?!?

    The last Netflix app update caused all video I play in Netflix to start with subtitles turned on. Looks like a bug in the Netflix app.

    Has anyone found a way to fix this?

    Sorry to hear it. Can you try deleting and redownloading the app to see if that works? If not then you may need to contact Netflix to see what they suggest

    What subtitle does work on the XBox

    I know that a DVD subtitles will work (As long as it has subtitles encoded in it.) You enable them at the main menu of the dvd or the movie option bar in movie...

    Most of the movies and Tv showson netflix have subtitles that you have to enable when you start that show.

    Xfinity has them too in the app settings (I think their subtitle system is dumb though)

    Some Youtube videos have the CC options

    netflix app doing the same again - no matter NETFLIX account settings or xbox settng (closed caption) or even toggling it in movie - I *always* get subtitles. Annoying! argh!
