Lost content when transferred to another console

Hi. I bought another xbox360 from a friend (E model) and used a transfer kit but I have lost 3 XBLA games so I went to my download history and they are not there either. I know I definately bought them though.

Realms of Ancient War

The Expendables

and

Joe Danger 2 the Movie.

I don't understand what's gone wrong.

game download transfer help!

You can't transfer games/content from one account to the other, only licenses can be transferred to another console.

Acessing DLC

It won't be happening to all content because it will only happen to content that was purchased on another console and never had its license transferred to the console you're on now.

However, to the best of my knowledge, you cannot transfer content to a new Gamertag. When an account is banned, all licenses attached to that account are forfeited.

Hi there,

did you use that same account to purchase those items?

Since a purchase is connected to the account used to purchase it will only show up in the download history for the account that was used

Sorry but anything that was attached to that account will be lost when it is closed. There is no way to transfer content from one account to another. If you would like to continue playing the content then I would recommend not closing the account and
set it as Home on your Xbox if that's what you're playing on. That will share the games to other accounts on the console

To add to the advice above, here is how to transfer the Content License from one Xbox to another:

Can I transfer a content licence from one Xbox 360 console to another?

Yes, you can transfer content licences from one console to another once every four months.

If your console was recently repaired or if you’ve purchased a new console, use the licence transfer option on your console to transfer content licences. Here’s how:

1.On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.

2.Go to Settings and select Account.

3.Go to Your Billing Options and select Licence Transfer.

4.Follow the instructions to transfer the content licences.

After the licences have been transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licences. Then the content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you’re not connected to Xbox LIVE.

Account suspension questions should be asked in the
Account Suspension forum. You can post there, but the answer will be the same - all content is forfeit when a gamertag is banned.

If your console was not banned, the content you downloaded will be usable on the console that it was downloaded to first. If you changed consoles and did not perform a license transfer between the time the content was transferred and when the account ban
went into effect, then you will have lost access to the content.
