    Lost chat/system sounds


    Lost chat in mid-game as well as system sounds (menu/hub navigation) and YouTube app no longer loads. Other game sounds seem unaffected.

    Can I use this for a simple mono wireless headset?

    I want chat only through the headset from teammates and game sounds coming through my surround sound system.

    Lost in game sound, but not party chat

    I did, and then I cleaned out the whole xbox including games and apps and it's still acting out. Every headset I plug in is acting like the original one the xbox brought where it only has one speaker on an ear and can only hear party chat.

    Lost chat/system sounds

    Whenever the system UI starts acting unusual, I go straight for a
    power cycle     to refresh the system cache. That typically fixes the problem.

    Hey Gunzypr1,

    Sorry to hear about the audio issues. When you say you, "cleaned out the whole xbox including games and apps" do you mean you

    Factory Reset your Xbox One Console    ? If not, please go ahead and follow the guide to factor reset your Xbox One.

    If the issue persists after the above steps, your Xbox One console may be in need of repair. You can start that process over on our
    Online Service Center.

    I, too, am having this exact problem. I have also tried switching controllers, headsets, unplugging/resetting my xbox and nothing is working. At one point, I lost all in game sound entirely. It wasn't even playing through the tv anymore. My first experience
    with this problem was while playing Overwatch and it was only happening occasionally. Now it is with every game and app. Could a game be so buggy that it can mess up the system software or is this an Xbox problem?

    Try giving your console a
    power cycle    .

    Restarting the console is always best when the Xbox One interface starts acting strange.

    Hey Mr. Beep

    I'm glad to say I got it working! Clicked on settings devices and accessories, button mapping and restored defaults. This immediately fixed all the problems I had with sound on all my controllers.

    I did do the factory reset using both options but that didn't do anything.

    Thank you for the suggestions!
