Lost all saves and screenshots taken in offline

I played Fallout 4 in offline mode for one day or two. When I went back to online, I found all my saves and screenshots taken offline were lost. I tried to find them in the guest account, but I was prompted that I have to sign in in order to see captures
(under "My Profile" and Game DVR). Yet when I sign in, there are only the old screenshots taken when I was online...

I talked to a Xbox support representative about this issue. Basically he thinks "there is a big chance that you'll lose your game progress and screenshots while offline" if I chose to use the "cloud saves". But I didn't receive such prompts whatsoever.

Seriously, if this is designed to happen, at least there should be warnings. This is a terrible experience. I expected continuos gaming experience from offline to online, but now I have to start over.

Do you usually play offline or online? The game saves on the xbox one are usually backed up by the cloud and sometimes the saves can take up to 72 hours to take place, so if you're going offline and online a lot that may be a reason why, there's more troubleshooting
you can try to get your saved games back but in the end if it doesn't work, then they may be lost unfortunately.

I lost everything

I got offline for about two hours to go take care of some things and when I got back on my entire save file was lost. I was on the first mission again. I was level 1 on SvM again. All of my no kill, perfectionist campaign progress was gone. What happened
to my game?

Gaming online your game saves uploads to cloud and saves locally simultaneously. Check in your GameDVR to see if the screenshots are located there.

It's still an issue. I'm playing Witcher 3 offline so I don't have to update. I've taken several screenshots that can't be saved.

Hi Tomm_A,

Thank you for getting back to me. I do have an active Game Pass Ultimate subscription, but the issue is not with uploading screenshots. The problem is with the screenshots on console storage (local, internal, default hard drive that came pre-installed in the console). The screenshots are being deleted regardless of whether or not auto-upload is enabled.

It's an entirely offline issue. The screenshots are saving (when it works at all) to local storage. When it reaches a count of around 25-30 screenshots, the oldest ones are being lost without warning.

The console is also fully up to date.

I hope this helps to clarify things, but from your previous replies I'm guessing that this situation is not intentional on Microsoft's part?

Are you online while unlocking these achievement,you have to keep all save files for the game to unlock the achievements if going offline to online. Ive lost achievments from being offline then going online. So make sure your save file is there and your
online
