    Lost all my Diablo III Game progress due to a cloud sync error and support wont help


    Ive contacted blizzard first who told me they cant help because all data is on microsoft servers, i go to microsoft support and they tell me they cant do anything its blizzards game i go back to blizzard and they say same thing...been almost 2 weeks and
    all my game progress is gone!!

    In specific all my characters are gone, the game recognizes that i have achieved and played but on character select screen all of them are gone.

    Microsoft had me delete my account, delete the game and re-sign in and as well as re install the game...but nothing...

    what happened was we were trying to play 4 players and when we finally got everyone signed in a popup comes up that there was a cloud sync error and the data is corrupted and boom... a very sad player.

    I have the chat transcripts from both microsoft and blizzard...

    I cant imagine that its such a hard thing to fix...just roll me back to previous saved data before the game data was corrupted...

    in conclusion this sucks and support has been very un-supportive :/

    Wont Save

    my xbox one x keeps telling me I have to clear all my local saves and the cloud will sync my progress but ive cleared my local saves twice and reset to factory defaults and it still wont save or it wont sync???????

    Sorry to hear it. Game saves are stored on both the console and the Cloud. If the Cloud saves were corrupted the local save may still be there so long as you didn't delete it when you deleted the game.

    Please try disconnecting the console by going to Settings>Network and select the option to Play Offline.

    Then load the game and see if it will access the local save. If it does then, while the game is running, go back and reconnect to online. The save should sync up with the Cloud for you.

    Sorry to hear it. Game saves are stored on both the console and the Cloud. If the Cloud saves were corrupted the local save may still be there so long as you didn't delete it when you deleted the game.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply. I've tried what you mentioned by uninstalling the game and reinstalling. The last level where all was fine and my progress was being saved to the cloud was level 148 and since then it never synced.

    I've now reached 150 with the past two levels not synced to the cloud. So I did what you asked and uninstalled the game, When I reinstalled it, I lost all my progress. It synced to the cloud and got me all my progress until 148 - makes sense since my progress after that never saved to the cloud due to the error.

    I then played another game to further my progress and after I completed the same, again it fails to sync my progress to the cloud.

    I'm now again at level 150 and I only have my local save. How do I get out of this issue and save my progress to the cloud??

    No, your game progress is saved in the Xbox Cloud and will sync each time you start the game on your console, regardless of whether you lost the license due to the refund or not.

    I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with Diablo III.

    Would you mind giving this a try?

    • Press and hold your console's power button until it shuts down.

    • Unplug your console's power cord for 3 - 5 minutes.

    * If you have the original Xbox One model, you'll need to unplug the power supply unit from both your console and the outlet.

    • Plug everything back together and turn your console on.

    • Try launching Diablo III again.

    You could also try to restore your progress by syncing the game's data with your latest cloud save, like this:

    • Turn your console on.

    • Go to My games & apps > Diablo III > Manage game and add-ons > Saved data > Select your profile > Delete from the console.

    • Restart your console.

    • Launch Diablo III.

    Keep in mind this will only work if your cloud save for Diablo III hasn't been overwritten yet.
