lost all my data on hard drive due to failed insalation of gta 5

I got my grandson gta 5 for his Xmas this year and when i installed the first disc it reached the end after an hour and didn't Finnish it reached the full mb but didn't complete just stayed at 76##mb with the stupid loading symbol but not actually installing,
that in itself was not the problem after two hours i decided to start again so reset console and i tried to sign in but my grandsons profile was gone and so was every other profile after i downloaded his profile i realised every thing on the hard drive was
gone all his friends profiles who were not connected to live are lost and all his game progress on all games is gone and all his dlcs are gone how can this happen just by installing a game my grandson is really upset about everything being lost because he
has lost the dlc discs for the games so can't reinstall what can i do to sort this out please i really need a solution

If I delete an Xbox 360 game and save data does it delete the game and data on Xbox One?

Hi i'm new to the forums and just a couple months back my 360 hard drive got corrupted and I couldn't play Watch Dogs, since then I have been using my old hard drive which only has 13GB. But in order for me to play Watch Dogs i have to delete Grand Theft Auto 5 and all its save data, since it takes up the majority of the hard drive. I also have GTA 5 and all my save data on the Xbox One as well and i don't want to lose my data on the Xbox One. So my main question is If I delete GTA 5 and the save data on the 360 will it delete it from the One as well?

 

Hard Drive Transfer Cable

Hi justi2tru, if the hard drive failed you'll never get the data off it sorry not even using a data transfer kit. The data on that hard drive is lost sorry, you may as well try formatting it on the console now.

 

Does the Xbox recognize the hard drive on the console?

 

Yes there seems nothing wrong that i can see and the console is only three years old
