Losing TV Audio overnight- my final "hurdle"

My family has been enjoying our Xbox One. One feature that I was really looking forward to taking advantage of is the HDMI pass through/control of our Xfinity X1 (or is it X2?) cable box. With younger kids and a mother in law frequently around, not having
to explain TV inputs, multiple remotes, and/or programming a remote was very appealing.

Unfortunately, despite constant forum searching, Xbox site FAQ's, and the xbox one sub-reddits, etc, I just can't solve my TV audio problem.

I turn off the TV at night, but don't "power down" the xbox one-- (i.e. lights are still on the kinect and the console)-- something happens after a period of time (usually hours) and then when I turn the TV on the next morning-- I have no audio on the TV
app only. (Every other app is just fine.)

I've tried any number of things-- changed HDMI cables, looked at audio output settings (i.e. HDMI audio is stereo uncompressed), done hard resets on the console, just about anything. If I power off the console and turn it back on, it usually does the trick--
but not always-- sometimes I need to do this more power cycle more than once. If I bypass the pass through via Xbox One and direct connect by xfinity box to the tv-- it's working just fine, so I am landing on a problem with the pass through on the Xbox One
or the TV app.

It's frustrating-- I troubleshoot, try every permutation of audio and video output on both the xbox one and the xfinity settings, but, of course, I can't get the problem to manifest itself without this extended time period (i.e. overnight) passing.

I'm at my wits end-- I'm about to stop using the hdmi passthrough, which, and I know this sounds dramatic (or perhaps lazy!), but will relegate the xbox one to a gaming machine only on it's segregated TV input.

Any ideas from folks before I throw in the towel?

:)

Final killcam

Its the last kill from the wining team, this has already been officially confirmed.
Why? What's the point of that? Shouldn't it be called Final Killcamfor the winning team
then?
I don't think thats right. Just now, the final killcam in Domination was that of a player on the losing team.
You were mistaken.
No I wasn't. I wanted to see if the above was true and found it wasn't. The final killcam WAS by a player on the LOSING team.

Losing TV Audio overnight- my final "hurdle"

Is there any reason why you are leaving your Xbox on through the whole night? When switching your Xbox to the standby mode might help this with your problem?

I have left the power mode as "Instant-on" as opposed to "Power saving". I had been shutting off the TV and leaving the xbox one on since this allowed someone to just hit power on the single TV/Cable remote and be "off and running". When you say standby
mode, are you suggesting changing the mode power mode to "Power Saving?

By the way, another dilemma is the voice recognition-- it's spotty with some family members-- rarely recognizing my youngest daughter, usually recognizing my oldest, and rarely acknowledging my wife-- If that was better/more consistent, then I'd certainly
use "Xbox Turn Off"/"Xbox On".

Hi, ok missunderstanding, you said you leave it on and you meant instant on, I thought it was completely on Losing TV Audio overnight- my final "hurdle" :) - yes I meant instant on with standby so maybe this help some others - I don't have this problem so I'm sorry I can't help you here.

Voice recognition works on my box only by 50% and I often have to repeat the commands - so I don't use this feature anymore hoping this gets better with some update - and yes my 6 year old daughter tried a hundred times saying xbox and nothing happened -
maybe her voice is too high pitched to be heared by Kinect.

Greetings

Xbox One S surround sound no longer working (0x80bd0009)

Finally solved it by switching my tv audio over to bitstream and setting the hdmi audio on the xbox to bitsream, and selecting dolby digital.

Now have my 5.1 back :D
