    Losing picture for a second and then it comes back


    So i started plaing on my xbox one today and periodically for a few seconds the screen will go blank and then pop back on like nothing happened and i have no idea as to what is causing it please help its really annoying and severely impacting gameplay.

    Hi there,

    be sure to double check if your HDMI cable is connected properly on console and TV/Monitor side.

    If that doesn't help then try the following

    try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds before powering on again:

    I had the same issue a few months back.

    Could not figure out why it is happening at the time.

    At the end i had to replace my HDMI cable as it was faulty.

    Please try a different HDMI cable, and if possible try to test the console on a different TV/monitor.

    If the picture disappears on the other TV with a different cable as well, you might have to sign up your console for repair at

    Screen fading, then going out completely.

    Oh and I guess it's worth noting that when the picture goes black, if I hit the MENU button on my TV remote control, the picture comes back (dimmer than normal), but it fades to black after 10 seconds at the most.

    Same thing is happening to me. I'll go to check achievements in the middle of a game and the screen goes black....still have sound. Have to do a cold boot (losing my place in the game) and the picture comes back. Frustrating.
