    Losing game data after a reset


    Ive reset my console before and always chose "keep my games and apps" i loaded a game and my saves are gone. When i go the manage page for the game i still have save data but still no saves when I load the game. I contacted the people who made the game
    but I have no idea if thats even something they can help with.

    Saved data is different from games. If you want to keep your installations to not lose time installing them again yes if they are in the external HDD,
    but remember to unplug the drive before reset the console or it will delete all.

    With the other site, saved data is all saved in the cloud, so after you reset the console, when you start the game will download all saved data for that game

    So help me understand this: if I do a factory reset, I'll lose all of my downloaded games and local game saves. Correct? If so, is there any way to preserve this data to re-apply after the reset?

    To me, a factory default reset is not the correct way to address this. In my opinion, the problem should be identified and corrected.
