There are these REALLY annoying issues I’m having with my Xbox profile:

    1) I’ll randomly disconnect from the internet.

    2) I’ll randomly get signed out from my Xbox profile.

For some context, I have an Xbox One X. I don’t remember when I got it (if that matters at all). I have perfect internet with my router not indicating any issues. I’ve played extensively online with my PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and this issue
does not occur on any of those devices. This appears to be an exclusively Xbox issue for me. I’ve tried darn near every troubleshooting solution and still nothing.

Is it possible for a hardware issue to be causing this? Should I have my Xbox looked at? This has been going on since the beginning of the year and I’m at my wit’s end. I’ll take any suggestions someone more knowledgable than me can give.

    :)

True, it would say "Signed in elsewhere" and when you sign back in would say something like "Previously signed into a different console" and if you have 2FA turned on, that's likely not the case.

The next thing I'd work to troubleshoot, and it's not an easy thing to narrow down, would be wireless interference. Easiest [sic] way to do that would be to connect it wired and run it for a while to the point where you'd almost certainly see the log out
issue. I know that's not always possible or feasible, but there are things to mitigate and test such

    as internet over powerline devices.

That would allow us to narrow down if it's a wireless issue, which is what my gut says it is, even though it says 90% strength.

There are other smaller things to try in the interim, such as removing and re-adding your profile to the console, a full power cycle by pressing the Xbox button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down, clearing your Alternate MAC address in Settings
    > Network > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate MAC Address> Clear and then restart. Try those individually and see if that improves the situation. Again, it's kind of a pain, as the issue is intermittent, but worth trying.

Let me know if you have any questions about the troubleshooting steps.

Can you go to Settings > Network > Network Settings and let us know what it says there for NAT Type, packet loss, and latency?

Can you also describe how often this happens, such as if it happens at a regular interval or is it random? I'm also curious what happens when you say it disconnects from the internet? It could be a number of things with your local network connection, but
it might also be an issue where someone else has access to your account, and when that account signs in elsewhere, it will sign out your profile, so we'd need a bit more details on what's happening to troubleshoot further.
    Sure thing!

    IPv4 & IPv6

    NAT Type: Open

    All services are available

    Download Speed: 116.58 Mbps

    Upload Speed: 6.62 Mbps

    Packet Loss: 0%

    MTU: 1480

    Latency: 95 ms

    Wireless Strength: 90%

As for when it happens and how often: It’s completely random with no real pattern. What I do know is that it’s happening more and more frequently. As for the hacker thing... I sure hope not! I have a fairly complex password & 2-step authentication. Plus,
if someone signed into my account elsewhere, wouldn’t it explicitly say “Signed in elsewhere” or something along those lines? All I get is a message that says “Bye, [my first name]” then I try to sign in. Sometimes when I try to sign back in, a rectangular
box pops up that says something along the lines of “You need to have an internet connection for this”

Here is what I have done in an attempt to fix the issue (sometimes even multiple times):

    • Soft reset

    • Hard reset

    • Factory reset

    • Turned power off, unplugged all cables from Xbox, plugged them back in

    • Removed then re-added account from Xbox

    • Cleared MAC address

    • Unplugged and re-plugged my router

The only thing I have not tested is a wired connection. I assume I’ll need an ethernet cable? The layout of my house and the placement of my router is... not optimal for a wired connection. But if that’s what it’ll take, I’ll see if that’s even feasible.
