Losing chat audio when the party app is unsnapped.

There weren't any issues until my friend and I had been playing for a few hours, but then after bringing the party app back up to invite someone, we were unable to unsnap it again without losing chat audio completely (it came back immediately once the app
was snapped again). We did some experimenting and figured out that other party members could still hear us when we unsnapped, we just couldn't hear anyone else without the app being open. Has anyone else run into this before/have any info on how to fix it.
Obviously it doesn't directly hinder gameplay, but it is fairly annoying to not be able to play in fullscreen.

Xbox / microsoft fail

The party chat only usually fails if someone in the party has NAT issues.

For private chat you can snap the Skype app and use Skype. It even works unsnapped.

 

Party chat disconnects when unsnapped.

About two to three hours after my xbox has been on the party chat will disconnect if not permanently snapped. This has happened in the last few updates, but now is happening far more often. A hard reset is the only workaround. Please fix this.

 

ok, so I came the forums in search of a solution for this exact problem. My friend has had nothing but problems with his xbox one since days one, and one of the biggest has been the party chat issues. We went to participate in the destiny BETA and he got
so frustrated he logged out because of this before we even started. That said....

I looked into the issue and found this:

the top one on that chart is the most recent and it tells you how to check yours. His version is an older version, which is annoying since he has downloaded every update and has one of the day one xboxs. That being said in the march update there were some
fixes for the party system, I am on the most recent and do not have the problems you 2 are experiencing. So, I thought this would be as simple as telling the xbox to update, but unfortunately it is not. Should this be your issue it looks like you will need
a flash drive and a lot of time and you will need to follow this guide:
How to do Microsoft's job for them because they released a broken product and wont take ownership

**Update**: my friend decided this was a huge waste of his time, and took his xbox to a store and traded in and got a ps4. He seems very happy with this decision, I am considering it myself.

 

I am having the same issue where party chat audio only functions when the party app is snapped.

 

I ended up doing some more poking around on my own, apparently this is an issue lots of people have specifically with the Destiny beta,

The first comment on this Reddit post

gives a possible solution, which did seem to work when my friends and I gave it a shot last night. Here's hoping it helps anyone else who has the same issue.
