    Loose Controller Thumbstick


    Hi guys,

    The left thumbstick on my Xbox One controller made a cracking noise today and now seems to be loose. It is affecting my play on FIFA 15 as you have to use the stick a lot to change direction.

    This is the second problem I've had with the XB1 following the failed update that bricked all new consoles last month.. joy.

    My question is, will this be covered on my warranty do you think? I purchase a console bundle last month but was wondering what people would advise. I'm in the UK.

    XBOX Elite Controller Thumbstick loose

    Having spent nearly $200 on an "Elite" controller I am very upset that Microsoft does not stand behind their product. My controller is not NEW, but the thumbstick is loose and moves up and down. This is definitely not normal and is certainly a defect of
    some kind as the many other regular controllers that were half the price function properly after years of use.

    I was hoping that MS would replace or at least repair the controller, but because it is out of warranty I was told to buy a new one.

    Well, I for one will not be giving MS any more of my money if they are not willing to stand behind a "premium" product

    I hate the Xbox One controller.

    Yeah, it's a decent controller but I vastly prefer the previous 360 controller and DS4. Not a fan of the loose thumbsticks or the rear bumpers. The build quality is excellent though.

    It might be a loose/faulty thumbstick or someone set the settings for the controller on inverted.

    I figured it out... For some reason the website says the controller is unregistered but when I use Xbox's virtual assistant it, it worked fine and read the controller IS in fact registered, must be a problem with the website. All is done and the order is sent awaiting approval, fingers crossed. Tired of the back to back cheap feeling controllers I receive. Thanks for your opinion/guidance on this.

    Holy crisp I have this a lot too recently. After 2 I found a good one (bumper was a little crunchy but better than bad thumbsticks).

    Just recently had to replace that one finally.

    Got a new one and the right thumbstick feels quite loose. I can’t fine aim for **** on old settings. So I get to try and return it and deal with Best Buy’s HORRIBLE customer service and policies.

    They often act like I am dumb when I tell them the issue.

    Im guessing it’s Covid part shortages and stuff, but that’s NO excuse when it’s a $70 controller that’s barely changed over the years.

    At least im not the only one experiencing this bs.
