  2. Which is best for gaming? AMD Ryzen 5 or AMD Ryzen 7

Depends on your budget and indeed, the rest of your system. Ryzen 7 being the latest series of AMD CPU's, so if you want the latest, go with the Ryzen 7, but if you want to save some money, go with the Ryzen 5.

My advice though would be to check video reviews and comparisons made of these CPU's on YouTube.

'Techquickie' a sub channel of Linus Tech Tips explains the differences here:

And YouTube channel 'Testing Games' has a number of Ryzen based comparison videos
    Testing Games

Of course, just searching for Ryzen 5 vs Ryzen 7 brings up a ton of video links anyway.

Scorpio reveal on thursday (6th Apr)?

A major outlet is ready to officially reveal the specs of the next Xbox, Project Scorpio (Update: Confirmed)

Well, it's no longer looking like we'll have to wait until E3 2017 to find out what's in the box.

A major gaming outlet recently visited Microsoft to take a look at Project Scorpio's internals, ahead of a planned exclusive blowout of coverage.

Forza Motorsport 7 was utilized to showcase Scorpio's power, which we revealed recently has been planned for some time as a headline title to exemplify the power of the next Xbox.

Forza Motorsport 7 will run at a 4K resolution on Project Scorpio, and if our information is to be believed, it'll look truly stunning.

It looks as though Project Scorpio's specifications could be revealed as early as next week, potentially putting an end to long-standing debates over whether it would be using the latest Ryzen CPU tech from AMD, or something a little older. Specifically, we have heard Thursday could be the day all of this comes to pass, but take that with a pinch of salt for now.

Looks like the Xbox Scorpio will be using AMD RYZEN Tech.

All it needs is a faster clocked AMD APU than the PS4 Pro then its already beaten it especially 4k bluray and higher 320gb/s bandwidth. They dont need to turn it into a $3000 custom PC and they dont need to make it too expensive for console gamers who may
not be able to afford a high end PC.

You can also buy a PC with better hardware, likely cheaper, for the price they're likely gonna charge for it...

I've always been a console gamer. PC gaming doesn't interest me in the slightest. I prefer the simplicity with console gaming plus I'm on a PC a lot of the time at work and when I get home I don't want to be near one.

    Might be neat!

This better not be ridiculously expensive. I'm still recovering from the launch edition of the Xbox One S.

I've already planned my budget for 2017, and even though my current home theater set-up is perfectly fine and functional, the unfortunate downside of new tech means I'll have to replace them prematurely. I mean, it's not like somebody is holding a gun
to my head saying "do it, do it", but how can I not do it when I love the brand? I want to be there for Scorpio's launch and will do whatever needs doing to make it happen (hence my budget) - well, apart from placing a gun to my head obvs.

I may wait until after Scorpio comes out for reviews. I spent waayyyy too much last year. I got a PS4 Pro which can boot up in 20 seconds with it's 1TB HDD. I also got my first custom desktop which has an Intel Core i7-6700k and AMD R9 390, 16GB DDR4 HyperX
RAM, and HyperX SSD from a special NZ company which comes with, no, not just a 12 month warranty, but an 18 month warranty, and will have better processing raw power than Scorpio can accomplish. I already have an Xbox 360 slim 250GB console still going strong,
and my day 1 edition 500GB console with Kinect. I love Kinect. I also had to replace my Samsung S5's screen and USB ports last year which cost a lot too. My new year resolutions to list some is to budget and spend less, stay healthy (easy, I'm into swimming
which is the best exercise as it's a zero impact (unlike gym, my mum got me into gym when I was 15 but that only lasted a month as they said I had high blood pressure which was bunch of balony, my doctor said my blood pressure was healthy, that's a legally
qualified official doctor, not some employee who's just taken a first aid course, working for the gym, they likely said that to try and lock a minor into a contract but I told my mum no!) full body work out, and I like mini golf too.)

I've heard some regulars on here say it could be as much as $1,000 or US$600. When Sony has set an RRP of NZ$639 which still packs quite a punch. My advice is, if you have the money, and if you don't have a high end gaming PC, and you don't already have
an Xbox 1, this may be right for you.

I joined Xbox late 2010. I loved Xbox 360 so much, I went to the midnight release of Xbox 1 in NZ. Got home and all I heard for like the next several months was

    ....wah, has no voice messaging

... wah, the UI is SO slow

.... can't change the dash background

... No Dolby support, just stereo uncompressed

... It looks too fat, like this thingy called a VCR.

Xbox 1 got A LOT, and I mean A LOT, of negativity at launch, how it was bundled with Kinect, lots of people hated that Windows 8 like, UI, etc etc. But even I can say Xbox 1 has improved A LOT since launch. Basically to me, there will remain the original
Xbox 1 for those on a budget, Xbox 1 S also for those on a budget but with a few extra features like HDR, 4K Bluray, and the console can be placed upright and is slimmer; and the Scorpio for those rich enough to afford it and who can throw money at anything,
or who want the best and raw console gaming power, until Sony releases PS5...
