Xbox One Avatars?

I agree too. Many of us make an avatar that looks like ourselves, rather than looking at a gamerpic which people put anything on it. Xbox Live Party uses avatars in them. Xbox 360 uses it. So don't see why Xbox One, which is Xbox, doesn't use avatars which
are a part of your profile.

 

Avatars is an Xbox Live Feature which was included since Day 1 for Xbox 1 though. It's in Avatar App.

I would like avatars to be more dominant on the Dashboard, like on Xbox 360 they show up on the Social tab on 360 and in XBL Parties.

It's a good thing they didn't leave out this Xbox Live Feature when Xbox 1 first launched. Does that mean they'll be rolling out 4D Avatars? That would be interesting.

 

I recall having had to make one, at an earlier point. What did/do they actually do? Aside from being a gamerpic type of thing.

 

I wish they would just do away with them altogether.

Some games you can use your Xbox avatar in them. On Xbox 360 they include A World of Keflings and Doritos Crash Course 2. Yay, I'm IN the game.

Given that they have removed the Avatar options from other devices (Xbox One Smart Glass and Games app on Windows 8.1 for example) I don't think that the article is coming to happen as they describe.

The dashboard designs don't really support their placement any more.

 

I'm counting on the fact that you will be proven wrong, Vaynel. Why else would MS put up a job posting for improving upon a feature that they don't intend to implement? That doesn't make sense.

 

I know of one person who hopes I am very wrong. I just don't see why if they intend to improve a feature, why they would be removing it from other places.

 

Ever since they first appeared, I thought they did nothing but give the 360 dash a cheap tacky kiddie feel. Horrible addition to the xbox IMO.

 

I always felt like they were an idea that Microsoft wanted to expand on, to something like a Xbox version of the PSN Home.

Then at some point the idea was dismissed and they were left with something that they didn't know how to deal with.

 

I always thought they were just a response to the Wii ones and the popularity of that console at the time.
