Looking to get into Rocksmith

Not sure if I mentioned joining Song Of The Week? If I did ignore me, you'll be winning every week :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Even Rocksmith themselves don't say it's the best way to learn guitar, they do call it the fastest way though.

It's a brilliant motivational tool, but if you really want to learn, it definitely needs to be combined with one or more other resources. As I've said before, anyone starting to learn guitar these days is very fortunate with a whole wealth of information a mouse click away, a lot of it completely free.

I often wish I'd started 40 years ago, but there's no way I'd have had the patience to learn back then, stopping and starting a record and trying to work out how to recreate what I was hearing, or learning from a tuition book, that gets you on easy classical pieces or the likes of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. At least with RS, you're playing great music that you actually want to play

Session mode is great, but the trouble is, the other stuff is there too

If RS didn't exist and Session Mode was released on it's own, I think I'd use it a lot more, but I find it much more fun to be playing songs than improvising.

The Guitarcade games are great, but could be improved by letting you carry on almost instantly, rather than having to go through several screens to restart each time.

Only ever used the Tone Designer to get the achievements, it's good, but the interface is rather clunky, especially with a pad, scroll to the option you want, remove what's there, scroll to the thing you want and put it in the now empty slot. Too long winded.

I should imagine it's much more use if you don't have an amp/pedals already.
