Looking to buy an External Hard Drive for my Xbox One

I was wanting to get at least a 3 TB. One with a USB 3.0 and no AC adapter. I've heard and have also seen videos that show that the RPM really don't matter much. I was wanting to get one that's 7200RPM to shave down loading times but also hear that they
have more potential to burn out faster. Which makes sense to me.

I prefer the first Western Digital one simply because it says it's made for Xbox One. I really don't know much about the performances any of these have with a video game system so I figured I'd ask around to see what more knowledgeable people recommend.

i have a 80gb external hard drive and was looking to buy a new xbox the $200 or $300 one and was wondering if i could save games and stuff to my external hard drive.

My Passport X drive is an external drive specially designed to work with the Xbox consoles and comes pre-formatted and ready to be used. It should work perfectly fine for your system.

The
My Passport Ultra should also work without any issues on the console.

Regarding the speed, the only thing that may be affected are the loading times and the speed differences between different HDDs won't result in any significant time differences (except if you are using an external SSD for storage).

I'd say get whichever you prefer - both should work perfectly fine.

Bought a Western Digital 4 TB 2 years ago, got it on Cyber Monday, $110.00. Great buy, love it.

 

I'm using a 4TB Seagate hard drive I purchased about a year ago with my Xbox One. No issues at all. Honestly, Seagate and WD both make quality drives, so unless a certain size or look is appealing to you, go with whichever you can find cheaper at the time.

 

I have a 5TB Seagate USB 3.0 drive. Got it in September of 2015. Cost less than the WD 4TB I originally wanted & looked at. Haven't had any issues at all. Amazon Link from where I got it for reference.
