Looking for solution on Maximum range on Xbox One S controllers

Probably sound like a broken record, but I'm hoping to find a solution to get maximum range on my controller. I have 6 tvs that I use throughout the house, xbox one is connected to a video/audio matrix so getting Video & Audio feed to each zone is no
prob. I can use the xbox at all zone tvs for Netflix but gaming is whole other world. Is there any hardware solutions around that will assist? I know microsoft will not endorse adding an external antenna but if it works I got no prob voiding my warranty.
Anybody have a similar problem and would you mind sharing your solution.

    Thanks!

    :)

Is there a solution yet to extend the Xbox one wireless controller range yet?

    Hi MiffedJoker46,

If you're running into an issue with range due to the wireless on the controller, then there is likely nothing you can do currently to fix that (other than the USB cable). You can try following
    these steps
to update the controller, which does fix some disconnection errors, but again probably will not resolve your range issues. Microsoft did listen to the customers about this, and designed a new controller with better range due to Bluetooth, but
the solutions would require purchasing an Xbox One S which isn't out till August.

    Hope this helps!

What is the maximum download speed of the Xbox One X? Please tell me it's in the gigabit range.

  4. Looking for solution on Maximum range on Xbox One S controllers

    Hi there BMANN06!

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear about the current issue you may be having with one of your Xbox One Controller.

I recommend to take a look at the following troubleshooting resource:
    Troubleshoot
    your Xbox One wireless controller
    .

    Check out Step 4:

    1. Move closer to your Xbox. The range for wireless controllers is 19-28 ft (6-9 m), but things like walls and interference from other wireless devices can reduce
the range. Range may also be reduced if your Xbox faces away from you or sits in a cabinet. Make sure your controller is pointed at the front of your Xbox.

    Hope this helps.

  5. This is totally tongue in cheek but get a very, very long micro USB to USB cable.

Other than the use of an extremely long micro-usb cable/a whole bunch of USB extension cables (which are definitely not feasible solutions) I'm not sure if there's a way to boost the range of the controllers. If somebody else knows a way, I'd love to know
    the answer too.

I wouldn't have posted that here. Modding consoles is a code of conduct violation.

  9. So if I’m understanding this right, you have 6 TVs in the house, and the Xbox One is wired to all of them at once through an HDMI switch/splitter? That’s a pretty interesting (and quite demanding) setup. Honestly, I think the only sensible solution
here is to just get another Xbox console (or two, or three, ...or one for each TV).

I’m not sure of what the layout of your house is like, but the wireless signal can only go so far, but much less so if there are walls and other physical obstructions in between the controller and console. Gaming consoles are generally designed to be used
with one TV in one room of the house.

If you’re thinking if there’s any sort of wireless repeater device for controller signals, those don’t exist as far as I know. I would imagine that if they did exist, they would likely create some ugly input lag.

If you’re mainly using the Xbox for movies, then you might want to consider cheaper, easier alternatives (in spite of your complex HDMI setup), like a Google Chromecast or some other wireless streaming unit.

Your understanding is correct, each room (zone) has a keypad (or use the app) where I can select the source audio/video or both audio & video in the case as a source such as the xbox one. I think Microsoft shouldn't "reinvent the wheel" with this. Their
controllers should just have an ip address: ie... an internal wifi card, and communicate to the xbox one over the LAN (wifi). None the less, I have come up with a solution to extend the 2.5GHz-5GHz range so that the controllers can communicate to the xbox
one while it is in the basement. I can't post details of this configuration as I don't want to violate the site policy. I have been searching for a solution for some time now, was hoping that this issue has been addressed, but it has not. I'm pretty sure
it will be in the next gen microsoft console. However, i'm not going to wait for it, my warranty has already long been expired. My controller does work throughout the house for netflix, but isn't reliable for gaming. I'm not here to beat on the xbox one
its a good system ... its just evolving... truth be told i'll be performing the same mod on my PS4 ...

    Have a good weekend!!
