Looking for help with a Xbox One X connection isssue

Looking for some help with connection issues

Hey all,

Looking for help with a problem I started having last night. I lost power for around 5 minutes and when it came back on and every thing powered up I was no longer able to connect to my Xbox with a direct Ethernet connection. The Xbox won’t recognize that
a Ethernet cord is plugged in at all.

I’ve tried hard resets on both the Xbox and modem and that didn’t help. I’ve switched out Ethernet cords and still nothing. The Ethernet ports on the modem are fine because I can still connect to my PC with them and it works fine (I tried all 6 on both
the PC and Xbox, all 6 worked with the PC hardwired and none worked with the Xbox).

Normally I would just switch to wireless but for some reason it’s suuuuper laggy on my wireless even though the modem/router is literally 5 feet away. I get 200 down and about 10 up but latency in the 200-300s sometimes. All my other devices are around
20 ping including PC, cellphone, laptop on the same wireless network.

I’m just honestly at a loss and looking for solutions for either one, so long as I can get back to gaming lag free it doesn’t matter to me if my connection is wired or wireless.

try using a different ethernet cable, if that doesnt work, id contact your internet provider about it, or fiddle around with your xbox's internet settings

I appreciate the reply but as noted in the original post: I have tried using different ethernet cords and ports, neither of which solved the problem and since they work with my other devices I know it is not that.

Contacting my ISP and telling them that my internet works with every other device in my house with no issue except for one device is going to lead to them telling me to contact microsoft (which is what I am currently doing)

What exactly do you mean by fiddle around with the xbox internet settings?

I have this issue aswell. Instant on mode does a full shut down every 24 hours or so. Not sure if it's a hardware issue or not.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this.

Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

thank you so much for your help the first one did not do anything for me but the 2nd one seemed to fix all my isssues.
