Looking for games that?

Hi, I am an older player, nearly 60. Not so much into violence, but am looking for games that thrill, that are towards the intelligent and are fun. Is there such a thing? Most games rely on killing and destroying; although I can see there appeal it would
be great to have something that doesn't need to be shooting its way out of situations or cutting someone up. Portal comes very close, but then you need to avoid the killing small drone things. My mind has gone a blank as to what is close to this point.
I can't afford to buy all games, in fact I buy pre-owned games as I am not an on-liner gamer. Just stick to the games that I consider are good stories. Its not always possible to know the whole story until you buy and play, but then knowing the story before
you buy would be stupid and spoil the fun. The last thing I am interested in is football or sports and to say Roonie is intelligent I believe from what I here is a none starter. As a side line, its amazing to be not intellectual and get paid thousands for
kicking a bag of wind around and kiss each other after each goal!

I look forward to hearing your points on this subject. I don't read about all the games out there, so having you as a point of source should be interesting.

I'd pick up Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition and the first two Mass Effect games.

What about Minecraft not my cup of tea but my son and plenty more race about it! Also peggle 2 or zoo tycoon or Forza Horizon 2 could be worth looking at?

My final call would be Trials Fusion certainly takes skill and working out plenty of the tracks !!

Plus on the plus side all the games I've mention except Forza can be bought cheap

Car racing isn't my thing either. Looked at minecraft but again not my thing. I like games that don't look like lego and give a reality to them. As you can see from my games they are all role playing which I like. And its that that seems to be missing.
I like the games with a story and you feel part of that story and engage with it. If you could have that without violence or less violence and engage the gray cells it would be wonderful. I think its about time something was made like that

 

Is it the 360 you've got? If so have a look at Limbo one of my favourite games ever on the 360 !!

 

Have you played Max brotherhood, I thought that was a good little game.

Alien Isolation can be violence free, ( apart from the violence done by the Xeno!)

It's a very good survival game, if you liked the Alien original movie you should love it, getting through alive takes a bit of thought. Great game!

 

The Splinter cell games are good as you don't have to kill or knock anyone out if you don't want to, It's a good challenge to sneak through without being spotted.

 

I'm not great at suggesting games because it's all down to personal taste but here goes:-

Tropico 4: If you're interested in city building type games.

Xcom enemy unknown: Difficult to explain but it's something a little different.

If you're into RPG have you tried Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas?

 

Okay I will take a look. but it seems that the role playing game of being an individual and looking for clues or dealing with science, drama, detective work doesn't exist much. It seems if it doesn't have a gun, sword, grenade, rifle etc to kill your way
through, the game isn't going to excite anyone. I have news for those companies, they are wrong. To do a role playing game that will use your brains and take things apart will be brilliant. I will make up the story and sell it to the gaming companies and
also put it to you here and see what the take up would be. Or how about a joint venture of how a game should be on this forum. Then put it to the companies?

Your choice of fallout 3 was also on the violent side, so thanks for the suggestion.
