Looking for game research participants

Anyone who plays games has heard a lot about the research into video game addiction. I’ve read most of it, and I’ve found that there’s the idea that spending a lot of time playing or thinking about games makes a person addicted. I think it’s more complicated
than that, and I’m looking for other people’s experiences to help me to make that argument.

I’m looking for anyone who a) is at least 18 years old and b) plays video games. What type of games you play doesn’t matter; World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Bejeweled or whatever else you play are all useful, and whether you play on a console, a computer
or on your smart phone, I’d like to hear your honest responses to questions about your game play habits and mental health. The survey is designed so that your answers will be kept anonymous.

If you participate, you can choose to be entered in a drawing for one of several $20 Amazon gift cards. The odds of winning one of the cards is one in a hundred and eighty.

Looking for participants for the Campaign on Insane

It's much easier by yourself. If you choose to have a partner, just one will suffice. The reason that I say this is because if you play 4 player, someone will else die and you have to restart the whole section over again. The bots never die either. I beat
the campaign by myself. Teammates just make it harder and more annoying than it has to be.

 

Looking for participants for the Campaign on Insane

Right now i have me and one other person for the Campaign, Message me () if your in. We are going to start right from the beggining so message fast. (I have exsperience withg Gears, not a noobie)

 

Types of games played does seem relevent in determining why the person may be lured into playing.

Obsessive FPS players (MLGs) express an elitest attitude. Fame, acceptance, and some sense of power over others.

Adventure games, rpgs, seem to desire exploration.

.

Escapism is the addiction.

 

I actually agree. I think it's going to make a difference both in what the player has to do in the course of playing the game and how you pay for the game ($60 up front versus microtransactions where you pay for little bits at a time).
