    Looking for game recommendations

    Hi all,

I'm lucky enough to have a wife that also likes gaming on the 360. But she's just about reached the end of the games she likes so we're wondering if you have any game suggestions based on the following:

She played Oblivion (after starting Skyrim) and it fell a little short of her expectations.

She LOVED Skyim, played all the expansions etc.. even went so far as to alphabetize all her inventory in each of her houses, got all but one of the achievements.

She loves Dragon Age and Dragon Age 2. She's played both through many many times including the expansions and I believe she is working on the last achievement or two.

So that's what she's been playing. And believe me she's played through them almost at an OCD type level ;-)

For games, she does have a preference for those "dungeon and dragons" types of worlds as they often include magic w hich she seems to do well with.

She does NOT like first or third person shooters at all, is not overly into the sci-fi genre (for gaming at least as they almost always have a gun and run element to it).

She is NOT into open world games like GTA, Saints Row etc.

So I'm not sure if I've given enough to go on, but if anyone has any recommendations based on what I have given, please feel free to pass them on Looking for game recommendations :)

    Thanks!

    :)

Check out "Jason and the Argonauts" on the XBox 360.

The game starts in Argos and looks a bit shaky to start off with, but once you actually set off on your adventures the visuals improve and it's a decent Greek Mythology based adventure that plays in the "Mass Effect" style you enjoy.

It's hard to think of something that's comparable to Mass Effect's choice system where ultimately it could change the way a game story alters itself as much as Mass Effect does which Dragon Age would have been my first choice but you didn't much care for
that so i'll throw out Kingdom's of Amalur: Reckoning as it's just amazing.

How about boardgames on XBLA? Carcassonne is AWESOME and you can play two players as well. Or even Ticket to Ride?

L.A. Noire is fun, she might enjoy that. Terrific acting, great ambience and story, a beautiful world. Maybe even Nier, a highly underrated game with one of the best and memorable stories told in a game.

The Witcher 2 was a fantastic game. Maybe even Diablo III..you guys could both play together. Lots of magic...lots of slaying.

Its weird; you say she is not into open world games but she loved Skyrim. Looking for game recommendations :D

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen are both really good.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Diablo III, and there is a recent one called Bound by Flame. I haven't tried this last one yet, but the reviews seem to be good.

I'll second the Fallout series. Excellent games., although going to them after Skyrim may have a similar effect as Oblivion had being older and not as 'polished'.

Kingdom of Amular & Dragon's Dogma have a little more action to them than Skyrim or 'Bliv, but they'll come the closest. Has she played any of the Fable Series? Not a fan of it myself, but it has a bunch of side stuff to do like Skyrim. Dungeon Siege 3
is good enough on it's own {apparently this one is worse than it's predecessors,} , but it's pretty straight forward dungeon crawl, not much as far as buying houses and customization, but solid action-based RP, and has Couch co-op. If she likes Dungeon Siege,
Diablo 3 & Torchlight both play pretty close to the same, but Diablo & Torchlight are longer versions with more loot hunting. Lastly, Dark Souls...it's free until the 16th, pretty tight, but wicked hard. All of them have pretty decent demos except Dark Souls
(but since it's free this month...) Dragon's Dogma & Diablo even let you carry over your demo save to the main game if she likes them.

I'd recommend the Fallout games too, but hesitate a little because you say she doesn't like sci-fi as much. Also, though they are RPGs, they have shooter elements (though you can fight unarmed and with melee weapons, guns are the go-to).

Does she really enjoy hunting and collecting loot? Diablo 3 might be a good bet, very addictive and easy to pick up.

Two Worlds 2- Good loot, excellent magic creation system, interesting world. Controls take some getting used to.

Divinity 2: DKS- Hidden gem, IMO. Excellent plot and dialogue, fun gameplay.

Dragon's Dogma- Combat and the pawn systems are the highlights; plot a bit lacking but the good far outweighs the bad.

KoA Reckoning- Fun gameplay, tons of quests. Fantasy setting, but a warning: I'm a person who obsessively reads everything in games, yet KoA's lore was so boring and dry I ended up having to skip through huge chunks of what NPCs said.

Rise of the Argonauts- Story and dialogue definitely the highlights here, lots of conversation choices and a great pick for any with an interest in mythology.

Fable 2 and 3- Easy games, good if you want to have homes and families and some customization options.

You could also pick up Fable Aniversary for her if she does not mind playing as a male hero.

    Mrs Azrael's favourite games are:

"Diablo III". Get it already. You can both play at the same time.

"Earth Defense Force: 2017 / 2025" or "Bugs" as it's affectionately known to her. It's amazing local Coop.

"Minecraft". Another one you can spend hours getting lost in if you're not careful.
