Looking for earbud w/ mic recommendation to use w/ XBONE controller

There really aren't many. Headsets are pretty much the standard. If Sennheiser makes it, I recommend it but I don't know of any ear buds w/ mic made for Xbox one. You could get a 3.5 mm converter and use the ear buds from your smartphone. I've done that
when my dog chewed my headset up a while back. That worked just fine

Have you tried muting the Kinect under Settings>Kinect Settings?

Also, Try using a wired controller. Sometimes a battery problem can affect the Mic in strange ways. If you dont have one, try using a Play & Charge Kit, or buy a Wireless Headset. Most standard cellphone microphones (over the ear/ earbuds w/ built in microphone)
will work well with the 360. If you have a friend with a controller, try using your mic in their controller. If that fixes it, the controller is likely to be the culprit. If not, you probably are looking at a new mic. The speaker Icon can show up sometimes,
and it CAN SHOW UP EVEN IF THE KINECT IS MUTED.

I have the same issue.

I have a headset adapter and a pair of music headphones w in-line mic that I've used for months and the mic no longer works w the xbox one. Still works w phone, so it didn't break.

The headset adapter works w my 360 headset and the 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, so it's not the controller. All firmware is up to date. There was a console update, and the mic hasn't worked for party chat since then.

Can't figure out why it stopped working.
