Looking for a way to connect my 360 HDD to someone else's 360

I have a 360S and its HDD is pretty easy to carry around. Sadly I have dial up at home. My cousin who I visit frequently however has fast internet and his own 360 although it is the original 360, not the slim. I would love to be able to take my HDD to his
house and hook it up as a USB device and play games using my profile from my HDD as well as purchase dlc and games through Xbox live and have them download to that HDD for me to take home and enjoy on my own 360. Is there such a device? I do not want to transfer
profiles at any point, and avoiding downloading profiles will obviously make my life easy (downloading things on dial up takes time, like a month per GB). I want a simple solution if one exists, and I hope someone here knows an answer.

Try using the wireless, or get a new Ethernet cable. I've had everything imaginable happen to my Xbox 360, so, take this one from my experience! If it doesn't work, ensure that you can connect to someone else's, like a friends.

 

Blocking Xbox360 HDD swap

Hi, Is there any way to lock down an XBOX 360, so that it will only accept a specific HDD, or for a PIN to be required if someone does try to swap the HDD?

sorry there is no way to make a 360 drive work on a different version of a 360. you could put your saves on a flash drive configured for use on a 360 along with your profile and bring that to your cousins house but that is about it sorry.

 

With computers (yes I prefer my desktop to my any console for various reasons, except for two and those are Electronic Arts and Ubisoft) you are able to use your HDD with any computer. What is the difference then if it is an Xbox 360 HDD? They are computers
as well just with different software. all it would have to do is ignore the second HDD OS and treat it as an external HDD. Just trying to understand why it isn't possible. For a lack of a better term, why is it that I can't use a SATA equivalent to connect
to a USB port.

Now your flash drive option. That might work but I would need about a terabyte to truly be comfortable with a solution like that. I also would like to know if I can simply download from it all the dlc that I buy at my cousins house using that flash drive,
or will any dlc I purchase go to the Xbox it was purchased on instead.

 

Technically speaking, yes you could possibly connect a Slim hard drive to an older fat model. But it is a violation of Microsoft's terms of service and could result in getting you and your cousin banned.

With the latest update, you can connect an external hard drive up to 2TB and use it for 360 storage. So you wouldn't necessarily need a flash drive, but an external drive. The only issue you may run into is the fact that even though you have the content
stored on a flash drive, the console licenses will be on your cousin's console. Meaning you will not be able to access the content offline on your own console.

 

I see. Well I guess that means attempting to return to consoles to avoid Origin for the upcoming mass effect is out of the question then if Microsoft bans people for using your hard drive as an external hard drive, something PC gamers never even thought
